    Hey everyone,

Just popping back to say we had our official 12wk scan today dated us 12 wks 5 days one little bean bouncing away happily :D she was sleepy today actually well more so than last time anyway but all looks good.

Afterwards I met my consultant and she was fab the plan is that from 20wks I will be scanned every 4 weeks and reviewed in her clinic I will be induced at 38wks as they won't take any chances she advised to keep up with the painkillers for my SPD but will need reviewed at 20 wks and I said I wasn't keen on taking Tramadol (which was her recommendation) feel really quite safe with the plan and like we've got a massive achievement.

We signed up for the screening for downs the measurement at the back of the neck was 1.4 but obviously have to wait for the blood results to give full risk analysis, they said if we didn't hear from them by Tues afternoon then we are in the clear ! A letter will then follow.

I'm moving on to the 12 - 24 thread now but wanted to say thank you all for the support here the last few weeks will see you all on the dark side very soon enjoy the first 12 wks as much as you can hope everyones well

    xx

Gilly - Great news on the interview, and hey, a job's, a job. Hope that you get it :j

Sunshine - I was knackered too from about 6-9 weeks (ish). Couldn't get through most days without an afternoon nap, and I was already sleeping at least 8.5-9 hours a night. It does get better (and then I think it'll get worse in 3 trimester, lol). I'm getting my energy back now and some days, I've even managed some housework  :rotfl:

Floatylight - At least your high levels explains why you've been feeling so ill! I'm sure it'll start to get better soon. Wouldn't it have been fun for twins, lol :D

Amanda - replied on the 12-24 thread, but glad that your scan went great :j

    Mozzy & pske_lisa next week. :D pske_lisa - I'm waiting patiently to see if I've got a buddy :rotfl:

    Happy Friday All!

Hope everyone is good and managing with their sickness today:)

I think I'm aroung 12 Wks 2 days but as I haven't had my scan I'm sticking around for a week longer!

I think I've passed the tired stage now - some day's I'd like to sleep but others I feel fine!

Glad your out of hospital Floatylight and hope your on the road to recovery!

Good luck with the interview Gilly!

Hi Twig! I was convinced yesterday I was having a leap year baby - sooo off the mark there! We'll soon see what they come back with next week - I'm sooo excited now!

I found out my cousin is also pregnant a few weeks ago - she's 11Wk 1 day I think - only 6 day's behind me! We didn't plan it or anything but did say when I got married it would be helpful if we have babies at the same time (my mam is going to look after them! bless her) and couldn't believe it when she told me! I'm really happy for her and having someone close who know's what your going through really helps! - Not a dig at you lovely ladies! (I've found out more here than I would anywhere else!)

Anywho better go....At work and the boss isn't around to tell me to work! Lisa x

    AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH. OK, that feels better.

11+6 today, and still no scan date. I rang the hospital who say they've never had a referral. The doctors surgery checked their records and they have now written to them twice - once when I was 7 weeks, and again last week. The letter last week would have included all the copies of my booking in notes - no wonder they gave me the original book to look after!

Surgery are now faxing a copy of the original letter to the hospital... I guess I'll try calling again this afternoon and see if they've decided I exist yet!

I think the tiredness is passing for me too, I've been feeling a bit more awake this week, and was actually awake until 10pm last night - most evenings I've been having to go to sleep between 8-9pm so that's quite a nice change.

What about the odd food preferences? Any ideas whether I'll be able to eat tomato-ey foods sometime soon? We have loads of tomato based freezer meals but I just don't feel like eating them! Plus we have loads of home-grown tomatoes ripening up...

DH decided to have a food craving for ice-cream last night, so we had to go out for a walk to buy him some. In contrast, I'm mostly craving fruit and veg - I think something's the wrong way round here! :-) Although the clotted cream and honeycomb ice cream was delicious :-)

How is everyone feeling? I have terrible back ache and headache, i'm 6 weeks pregnant tomorrow and its going sooo slow- probably because i found out when i was 3 weeks pregnant!

How does everyone budget to buy the basic things for baby? I obv wont be buying any clothing (maybe the odd bib at 12 weeks) until i have my gender scan. To budget for this i am putting away £20 a week so in 10 weeks i should have saved £200 ish, enough to get most of the clothes. I wont be buying jeans in first size, i remember doing this with my DS1 and he looked ridiculous in them, sooo baggy and unnatural so if i'm having a boy no jeans till 3 months ish! I'm a bit of a worrier and just know ontop of christmas and buying basics for DS1 i need to save up to afford things.

Candie, we're planning on buying the pram, car seat and cot come September, which will be my 20 week scan, we have some money coming then so we're using it for that. I'm not planning on buying many outfits at all, mostly baby grows, vests, muslin squares. I know I'll get tons as gifts probably and for the first few weeks as you know they don't wear many "real" clothes, baby grows are easier. If I need to buy them once babies here then I'll do it then. I'm a winter baby so no matter what there wearing you won't see it, they'l be so wrapped up :o We're planning on setting up a savings account and just putting away what we can a month and keeping it til babies here to make up for a lack of pay.
