One of my nanny charge's mum swears by Bio-Oil. It's worked well on keeping scars away for the kiddos too, but I know that's not the same thing.
Cocoa butter (the real stuff) is what most of the mums I've worked with use and it does great. The idea is to keep your skin soft/supple so that it will stretch more easily. There is a hereditary component, but you can do things that will help...massaging the taut skin is good, and eating a diet with lots of vitamin E and plenty of fatty acids helps keep your skin in generally good condition.
Be sure not to use any creams with Vitamin A in them, as it can be dangerous during pregnancy.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0 -
ooooh I have a thing called cocoa butter solid that I got in america, that I use on my face as I have such dry skin, I used to use E45 but this is better, I think Ill see if I can get some on line and use bio oil too, I am really bad at moisturising my body I always seem to forget. I can't stand the smell of regular palmers cocoa butter especially not at the moment! Today is the first day that I have felt properly sick, not sure if it is because i haven't eaten much but have just had some milk and digestives but they havent made me feel much better....not sure what to do with myself.0

Ooh..milk always made me feel much worse when I've been sick with flu, etc. I tried some gingernuts the other day when feeling pukey and they ended up making me heave. It's weird how our tastes fluctuate.
On Palmers...their products are okay, but the solid stuff sounds better, more like *real* cocoa butter and not just something with a bit of cocoa butter in it.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0 -
i got some cocoa butter cream in one of the emmas diary mum to be packs its really moisturising i think, but i am useless at remembering to do it so i just put some of the bio oil stuff in the bath whilst im soaking, at least then i know its being used every day, (i also use i when the kids hurts themselves and on burns cause im always burning myself at work lol)
i cant stop spending this week, have paid off the buggy, bought a bounce and play thing (which i wont need for months lol) bought the cot and mattress today a lovely mama and paps one with the sprung mattress which i managed to get redueced to £155 for both, and a steriliser, breast pump and bottles from mothercare because they are reduced.
plus lots of bits because im doing a baby shower for my sister in law in a couple of weeks and am making her a nappy cake as well.
need to make a list now though instead of just buying random stuff lol.
hope everyone is doing well. im just feeling tired still but feel more with it if you know what i mean, getting back to normal
missymoo i find eating a frozen jubbly or ice pole helps me when im feeling icky and drinking plenty of water or weak blackcurrant, someone else also suggested apples which worked at one point but it had to be the pink ladies for me for some reason. and then soft mints helped for a while now its haribos. you will just have to trial and eror everything lolnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -
have just tried a banana im hoping thatll help, just the thought of food is making me want to heave, crikey mirror sounds like you've done well, how far gone are you now? I dont know when to start buying things? am such a worry pot think Im going to wait til after the 20 week scan.0

lol im only 15 weeks but whilst i have been able to do some overtime at work and have a little extra cash im buying it now becaus ei know i wont be able to do any extra work soon lol
there is a few shops near me that does factory seconds and ex displays so thats how comes ive picked up the stuff a lot cheaper than the shops, but most of its basically stuff that doesnt have the right packaging which doesnt bother me.
oohh i signed up to the boots baby club and have used some vouchers today as well, i bought a pck of newborn nappies for £5.99 used the £2 off voucher and the free changing bag voucher (the bag is on sale in the store for £30) i also bought a couple of avent bottles for £6.99 and got a free avent mother to be set with the moisturising creams and oils which are lovely.now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -
oooh mirror sounds lovely. I still cant get over how bad this morning sickness is, I feel so sorry for veryone who has been having it for ages, today is my first proper day of it and god does it knock you sideways, I'm not too bad sitting down but every time I stand up I feel even worse!0

Cream crackers did the trick for me, still does at 25 weeks. I take them to work to nibble on if I start feeling nauseous. Had to start with just a little margarine on but now I can have them fully marged lol and it keeps me going until break time. Also used to take a banana but have been going off them recently so just keep going with the crackers.:j0

oooh think i might even have some of those! thank you! am a little bit gutted as i had a chinese yesterday and saved half for today but really just can't stomach it. Am round my mother in laws for lunch tomorrow, OHis still away, he's been delayed by a week, typical, and I'm really concerned that I might feel sick whilst I'm there! As we haven't told her yet as were waiting for OH to come home first. What can I say to her to hide it!!??0
