What's everyone's referral system for MW? Last time, I went to see GP and he reffered me, but I don't think I had to see him. I'd rather not see him tbh, as last time he went on and on about the chances of m/c

I was so excited that they were able to have a good guess today..I didn't think it was possible at a 12 week scan!

Here you ring the GP surgery and they give you the number to ring to make booking appt. They ask lots of boring Q's.. LMP, weight, height etc.. and send out the appt. The dating scan is made at the booking appt and is usually 2 weeks after.

You don't see the GP at all at any point unless you are unwell.

I asked at my 13 week scan and the sonographer nearly bit my head off in telling me that they couldn't tell that early! (I did find out at the 19 week scan though and had it confirmed again at my 23 week scan!). You are clearly at a technically advanced hospital MV!:)

Yay! Congrats MV I'm so glad it went well today. (Though doesn't girl mean you're going to have to eat your hat? ) 1 in 1600 is very good for the DS results - I was around that figure when pregnant with DS and the consultant actually commented that it was a really good figure based on my age, which was 35 at the time.

Right, I shall uncross my fingers and toes long enough for the feeling to come back, and then re-cross them for you Courgette. Please tell me your scan is earlier in the day - I've got sod all work done today as I've been more concerned about MV's scan!

Congrats MV how exciting and reassuring

I had a 3rd degree tear with my second baby and they attempted ventouse but it pinged off baby's head so didn't end up having it in the end but doc had to to turn his head as he was being born so as you can imagine that wasn't pleasant. Both my deliveries have had baby's heart rate dropping having to have blood taken from my first baby before he was born and my second had a monitor on his head before he was born. Both threatened emergency sections if baby wasn't born quickly I just don't think I could do it again I was seriously traumatised after my last delivery to the point I was waking for months after thinking about it

Anyways sorry to dampen the mood just needed to get it off my chest xxx

Congrats MV! How exciting for you. Mega impressed about them being able to predict the sex. I can't wait to find out but will have to wait til 20 weeks I'm sure. Got my scan tomorrow am. Fingers crossed everything's ok

congrats MV on the good scan news!

AFM, I had second booking app't with midwife on Monday (they split it over 2 appointments here), so now awaiting scan date. Can't wait!

Exhausted today, we've had some of DHs family visiting the past few days (not staying with us thankfully) but it's still been lots of out and about and late nights...I'm quite glad we decided to tell family we're expecting, as it would've been so hard to try and hide it these past few days, been feeling vvv rubbish and sorry for myself! Exhausted and nausea ALL day :-(

Have some of DHs friends visiting this weekend though, so going to be hard hiding it from them. Normally when they visit I cook for everyone, and they bring me wine in exchange...and I can hardly face making a cup of tea just now, and obviously won't be drinking the wine they bring. And they want to go out on Sat night, and for once I'm actually glad I am working on Sunday as it gives me the perfect excuse for not going out!

Hopefully picking up our new car on Thursday (well, new to us) I can't wait! Does anyone know if a 2003 Honda CRV has ISO-fix points?
