  • Keith, wow! That's heartbreaking and heart warming all at once! Sending special strength vibes to Amelia and hope Nic and baby will be home with you soon. Stay strong hun... Gotta be a tough experience to deal with but made worth it with your bundle of joy in your arms.

10 days left for me and gladly receive any labour vibes on offer (even though i'm booked in for C Section on 28th). These pains are getting quite bad now. I've discovered there are 3 types of pains:

    1) periody type pains - not painful as such just uncomfortable - my pain threshold can cope with these

    2) Braxton Hicks - these can be sharp, turn my tummy all hard and can last anything from a few seconds to 30 seconds. Can also take my breath away. At the moment they are testing my pain threshold and send me running for Co Codamol last night!

    3) Shooting pains starting at the top of my belly, down into my groin and occasionally into my back passage - these are awful. The midwives have assured me they AREN'T contractions although i'm not entirely convinced. I've been in tears with these pains and these are the ones that have sent me to the hospital twice in 2 weeks. The fear of having to have another internal was the only thing stopping me going to the hospital last night again!

So yeah... all a bundle of fun and this has been going on for 3 weeks now. Am trying to just cope as long as I can without hospital intervention now but I think if they don't ease off today I may need to call them again. It would just be so much easier if my waters would just break! :(

Thanks hun. Just bearing on in there at the moment to be honest. In 10 days i'll be holding my bundle of joy and all the pain will be irrelevant and forgotten so i'm just clinging to the positives that I do actually have that date to aim for.

So glad to hear you've got the cot up and moving along nicely! Still chuffed for you that you managed to join us so quickly!!! :D xx

Wendz - pains are bad but this is what we have to put up with. :) I don't wanna queue jump though so.... your turn!!! Labour vibes right backatcha! x

Sorry to hear your in so much pain :( What have they told you when you've had the previous internals? If its the same as a sweep, I've had 3 attempted sweeps now, and it was only the last one that I could walk afterwards without doing a john wayne impression! This midwife told me to put ankles together and let knees fall apart naturally, she got me into a much better position than the other midwifes and was also the first one that actually reached my cervix, I know it wont help your pain, but at least if they knew what was going on, they may be able to help more?x

Right mission of the day is to find a nice induction story and concentrate on that, I'm really struggling with sleeping as I can't stop worrying about being induced, if anyone can point me in the right direction would be very grateful!

((hugs)) Charlie, you say you only have 10 days but that is still a while to go if you're in so much pain :( labour vibes to you hun!

wendz sounds very promising, fingers crossed for you too!

Bella good luck honey for tomorrow and that is a fabulous bump by the way!!!!

Keith thank you for sharing your story and hopefully you are all ok now x

Apricot that is a cute wee outfit!

Debs how exciting putting the cot up and your right there is no point taking it down now that it is up! I too am delighted that you are here with us xxx

Nothing to report here today just feeling a bit nauseas, have had lots of tightenings and cramps these past few days but nothing at all yesterday. Getting a wee bit tightening today but nothing to really shout about. Am wearing white trousers in the hope that something might happen LOL :o:D (as long as it doesn't happen when I drop DD off at nursery!!).

Hopefully there will be more birth announcements very soon ;)

Bella there are lots of ladies in the past that have been induced sweetie and there have been no problems whatsoever. I had a rubbish time last time being induced but that's because I believe my body just wasn't ready for it so they really should have left me until it was. I was also induced on my due date whereas you are now quite a bit over your due date and your body (I believe) will be more ready for baby to come. I have a feeling tomorrow when you get your sweep there will be a difference and maybe even some progress.

I am scared of being induced again too, the midwife and consultant know this but at the end of the day if baby isn't coming then there has to be some sort of intervention and what is making me feel a tiny bit better this time (if it turns out an induction is necessary) is that I feel my body will be more ready for it.. :o

Hope that makes sense to you x
