Good morning everybody hope the day goes well and the sunshine brings lots of new arrivals for the ladies in bold.
I have no fun plans for the day sadly indeed I think I will be spending the day building some ikea furniture picked by my oldest son for his bedroom sot most probably no fun for me at all! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I meant to say yesterday for those who keep waking with severe hip back and thigh pain through the night it may be worth placing a spare pillow or a few cushions under your knees towards the tops of your legs when you wake. It will ease the discomfort quite quickly and should let you get a bit more sleep. I know that advice is generally against pregnant ladies sleeping on their backs but in all probability most people will move back into their comfortable sleeping position within half an hour or so anyway.. Sorry can't always manage to leave the nurse in me at work!

Will take a walk outside at some point though to get my daily dose of exersize! OH was working till 3 am so he will be asleep for a while yet. The donut left his phone at home last night so good job i didn't go into labour lol.
Mcdonalds breakfast sounds amazing Apricot!0 -
Morning!
Well everyone seems to have some nice plans for today. Have we heard from Alfalfa? Hope it is a good sign! No stirrings here - off to consultant tomorrow if nothing happens, although I am secretly worried about the size of babs so eek if I do go into labour naturally before tomorrow's appt!
Really can't sleep now - anxiety about the birth (which I didn't have at all 5 days ago - the more I go overdue the worse it is getting), very bad SPD pain now and general hugeness preventing me. Knackered.com. DS having quite a few tantrums - probably reacting to Mummy being shattered and anxious - am really trying to hide it, but he is sooo sensitive bless him. He keeps telling me in such a kind way that the doctor will 'very gently' take the baby out for me. Awww love him sooo much! x0 -
Thanks Koala for the tip re pillows, but I have been sleeping with so many pillows between my legs, under knees, under bump etc there is no room for my OH.
The pillow under my bump worked at 30-34 weeks, but nothing helps now. There is just to much weight in the bump and it compresses on my hips. I take 2 paracetemol everynight too. When ds wakes me at 7am I'm quite happy to get up as I'm so uncomfortable.
I am huge though so pillows may work up to the end with ladies with a smaller bump.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Oh great! Lucky me has a whole summer of getting bigger and bigger to look forward to. Had my first taste of what it'll be like yesterday afternoon sitting in a traffic jam on the motorway in the sun and the air con is broken. What joy. Sure it'll be worth it in the end. And my payback is I'll be on mat leave for all of the Olympics next year
Had a most unsuccessful shopping trip today. Wanted maternity jeans and some casual trousers by decided to try them on instead of online lucky dip. Gap= jeans ok but nothing special and expensive. New look = didn't even have maternity. Next = only boyfriend or skinny jeans. Not exactly figure flattering on me. Dotty Ps = skinny jeans only, haven't they seen the size of my thighs?! H&M = nearly cried wen size 14 was skin tight and had to leave. I know there's nothing wrong with size 16 but I'm normally 10/12 so finding it hard to accept. So came away with nothing. Will try jojo maman bebe tomorrow if they're open as I know they have jeans for £30.
I just feel like a big jelly belly. My tummy is too big to hide but not very bump like at all. I don't know how to dress for this shape. Please tell me it gets better soon. I'm 18+3.
Sounds like you're all getting very organised. Glad you're settlin in well digital.
Come on boldies. We want birth announcements!
I had the same problem with H&M and was quite disgusted to be frank. You do not want to be made to feel fat, as you're not, you're pregnant. And I am also normally a 10/12 and couldn't fit in their silly clothes. TBH I didn't like anything anyway, just tried it on as it was cheap. I ended up getting some jeans from Next and ASOS and have been getting my money's worth out of them as I needed them from around 18 weeks, maybe before, I forget. I recommend those two places. They may be slightly more but you get good clothes which you forget are maternity trousers, and no one knows they are either! Very comfy too. Also you can always eBay them later.
I was pregnant over Xmas and think that was worse than being pregnant over summer. No alcohol and everyone else is drinking!:rotfl: Also, even though I luckily managed to escape it, if you are pregnant over winter you may need to spend x amount on a new coat. In the summer you can wear lovely floaty tops etc. So think on the positives0 -
Morning All,
Before i start my moan
sending loads of hugs and luck to all of you who have labour coming up - im still in denile and assuming that in the next 22 weeks a pain and hospital free labour method will be introduced and of course i'll be selected for the trial :jOh great! I found my jeans in Mama's and Papa's they had an offfer on so just £19 a pair and they have some good long length ones (a must for me or i get psycho about having short trousers.
Also, my work trousers came from Asda - £14 for a pair of cotton trousers and £12 for a pair of simple black trews, they are so comfortable and have the adjustable buttons that i like. Hope this helps
Now for the mini moan ...
I am in pain and its not funi have suffered with a bad back for the last 5 years or so and not a stranger to waking up in pain but omg!!!
I think ive overdone it (london with work on friday so train down and back, then went shopping friday night for food and sand for the garden, then did a car boot sale yesterday and ive spent all night in between agony, sleep and wriggling around trying to get comfy.
Everything seems to hurt including my jaw and shoulders.
But on the plus side im up watching the Grand Prix in peace (OH knows so much more about it but tries to discuss it with me whicg makes it a bit boring lol) and talking to you lovely ladies.
So at 18 weeks today the verdict is sleepy and sore lol
Puzzled

Well, embarrassing start to the weekend. I don't cry normally, and don't get overly worked up- I'm fairly laid back. Yet was sobbing on my bosses shoulder leaving work on Friday (his wife is due around the same time as me, with no 4) wondering if I'd even make a good mother....
Think it was from all week and my mum phoning with lists and instructions, my partner coming up with names, potential schools etc, and my stepdaughter patting the bump (very tiny one, though doesnt feel like it.) every time she walks past. She's been very clingy since we told her about the bump, and while I love her to bits, I was getting irritated at her trying to hold onto me or grab me every single moment..... She just has to get used to it too.
All credit to my boss, he was fantastic, and stayed talking to me for ages. Gave me lots of help- told me how he felt with his first, how his wife dealt with it, gave me info on what would happen with midwife etc, and on births (he's had 2 ward births and a water, no 4 may be a home)- more informative than the doctor's been!
Puzzled- feel for you, hope your back doesn't hurt too much.0 -
Dipsy- I'm still here! No progress, I've given up hope of ever going into labour naturally and just waiting for Wednesday when i'll be getting induced!
Midwife is coming tomorrow for another sweep, doubt it'll work tho. Been walking loads in the gorgeous weather and been doing rudies with OH as much as I can be bothered (sorry for TMI) and nothing has worked. Got a dull backache and a few sharp stomach pains but I'm not getting my hopes up!
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine!0
