Lablover, would you mind telling my baby there is only one exit route... I think he's currently trying to mine his way through my ribs!!
Loving the support today, thnaks ladies0 -
Ema , when does the rib kicking start? Currently bubs kicks around belly button then sometimes at night when Im lying down it kicks right down near my lady bits .Im 22+4 todayThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Ooh, I can't remember exactly but it was definitely quite late (maybe 28 weeks or so) because I remember waiting for it to happen and wondering when it would. Kicks got gradually higher and higher as baby got bigger.
I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and either feel kicks in my ribs or just feel baby moving underneath them, or I get hiccups at the bottom of my bump! Bit uncomfy / distracting sometimes but very reassuring to feel him
Mine has always seemed quite high up, so haven't had the lady bits kicked at all, added benefit is baby is not on my bladder (even now)0 -
Lablover, sounds like our two are similar lol. I get kicked down low too  Have felt it just above my belly button too but thats about it. It just moves around my stomach area hitting here there and everywhere lol. Isnt it fantastic though to feel it
Can I just ask how you know they have hiccups? What does it feel like? Im not sure Ive had it yet:j0 -
Wow, feeling useful today
I had the same question a little while ago as I didn't know if I hadn't felt them or just didn't recognise them! I don't think I felt hiccups 'till about 30 weeks altho I think you can feel them earlier, it is just a rhythmic quite gentle movement in the same place. Mine usually gets them for quite a while, otherwise I wouldn't tell it from other movements.0 -
There is alot in this book about labour and it says that panicking and worrying makes it worse. Its just fear of the unknown though isnt it.Normally with pain I just get into the zone and I go very quiet and dont speak or listen to anything , so Im hoping in early labour I can do that.Your right Apricot , its in there now and there is only one exit route so I know it needs to be done lol.
Strictly speaking there are 2 exitsbut with the other exit route all the pain is after the birth (there's no painfree solution it seems) lol!
Either way you will both be fine x0 -
Typed a massive reply and it vanished !!!Baby loves my bladder , its even worse when Im needing a pee and baby decides to use bladder as a trampoline ,I get a few  moments. I didnt like the baby moving at first , when it felt like a fish swimming around, now that its more kicks punches its not as bad.
Yeah there are two exit routes but unless anything goes wrong between now and labour im defo the 1st exit route. ... Sunroof delivery seems less icky than lady bit exit, no greasy hair no sore foof or stitches in foof. But then like you say a sunroof is a major operation and hurts like heck afterward,no driving or bendingThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Speaking of sunroof delivery in my book there was a real life story about a woman who had to do her own c-section with a hunting knife......... Apparantly the local "dr" (about 50 miles away) came to stitch her back up with real thread and needle then packed mum and baby off on a trailer over to hospital over 200 miles away and they were astonished at how contended mother and baby were and it healed very well. Think it was in brazil or somewhere like that 11 years ago ! Scary !Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Just on the labour thing, I'm a wimp and although it's not the most pleasant thing in the world, it's manageable and I would liken it to severe period pain and wind!
Take the drugs if you want them..they really help!! Gas and air is amazing stuff too...don't think I would have coped without it.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Will second on the gas and air, although I did find that it took a wee while to get used to it. I got a shot of Diamorphine and I found that it really helped me control the contractions and generally after that the labour wasnt that painful even when Sofia was coming out, more just uncomfortable. I also had to get some stiches and they werent sore either, but by that time you are having mummy cuddles so not even bothering about what they are doing down there[/COLOR] Starting the new year in a good way cooking baby sharkeybabe no2:j:j0
