  • Morning all, Labour vibes to those that need them.

Hi to the lurkers too :)

Im guilty of lurking a bit this week as we have had a week off work busy busy and not so much pc time, back at work tomos so that will soon change lol :)

Have been having really bad nightmares and horrible dreams that wake me up - had a moment of clarity at 5am though - when i wake up im always busting for the loo - therefore i have self assessed that my body needs to wake me up to pee - hence horrible dream, i just need to find a nice way of waking so i dont have to put up with this for the next 6 months lol.

We have the first scan in just over a week and mega excited to see bean on screen and know everything is ok!

Its a bit lonely at the bottom of the list, hope someone joins me soon!

    Puzzled :)

    3 weeks for me :)

I'm currently trawling through the hundreds of different baby monitors to decide which one I am going to get. I'm getting a headache lol

    Hello everyone

I'm a long-term lurker and have been following the thread for weeks and it's been answering all my questions, so thank you ladies!

But I've got a question now that I am hoping someone can help with about NCT antenatal classes. I have a choice between a course that starts when I'm 23 weeks, which is once a week for eight weeks. Or a course that starts when I am 33 weeks but is an intensive weekend. I really don't know which one to choose, this is my first baby and I'm not sure of the best option. Can anyone give me any advice on which to choose and why. I feel like 23 weeks is a bit early to start but then I don't know what an intensive weekend of antenatal information will be like.

    I thought I better mention I'm 22 weeks, due 1 July.

    Thanks!

I too would suggest a longer course. It gives you chance to meet new people, and to think of questions during the weeks. You could find yourself at the end of an intensive course, and 2 days later have some questions you want to ask.

Ice - we got the Tomy classic. It's got a volume control, lights so you can have the volume right down, but still see if baby is crying, and a nightlight on the bit that goes in the bedroom. We find it very good.
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:
  • Welcome to newbies... Congrats Fairy Shazza! Wow that is quite a queue jump lol! Hope you and bubs are doing well hun :)

Ice i've been looking at this one:

    http://www.mothercare.com/Tomy-TOMY-Video-TDV450-Monitor/dp/B003158QIE?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_6&nodeId=42871041&sr=1-6&qid=1298802852&pf_rd_r=0T72CQS2GMG76GQAF943&pf_rd_m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=42871041&pf_rd_p=231490867&pf_rd_s=related-tab-3-5

It's expensive but i've saved money elsewhere and someone else has offered to buy it for us so the cost justification is perfectly fine with me lol. I've seen it for £135 in other places though. Just did a quick google search to show you which one :)

I know it's not necessary to have a baby monitor and some people will see it as a waste but for me I want one and want a video one as I don't think any of the kids will be able to resist sneaking in to see bubs of a night time so I want a video one lol!

I use the Tomy Classic monitor too.I've had it for years. I wouldn't feel happy sitting in the living room watching tv etc without being able to see or hear the monitor. Especially when you are down stairs. I used the monitors even when DD and DS were 2 or couldn't climb out of their cots, so i could here them waking from a nap.
