Awh jojo. Not good about the houseful of illness!! (((hugs)))
I don't think there's much you can take to be honest but certainly no expert.
Tired this morning here. Rubbish nights sleep which seems par for the course at the mo.
I find that I start off on my left side but wake up in pain in my hips so slowly turn onto back then right side ( for the sake of little one) then shortly after I have same problem on right hip and turn back to left. Driving oh mad and worried I am causing distress for the wee one. Is this normal???? I do sleep with pillow between legs.:jMini Coops arrived 2011:j0 -
Ice, (i think it was you that asked)
No you cant just swallow the heartburn tabs, the chewing them releases the whole heartburn reducing thing. You cant suck them either.
They used to stick to my teeth and tongue and it made me feel sick0 -
Morning all! Still here awaiting.... have even resorted to sorting out taxes/documents etc!
OK, TMI alert
most definitely lost the mucus plug thing last night - very weird looking thing!
Then as I was lying in bed getting off to sleep, could definitely feel braxton hicks feeling+cramps coming in waves...... but then it must have stopped as I managed to drop off to sleep and woke up this morning feeling just the same as yesterday!
Maybe am getting the odd crampy feeling coming and going.... but off to get some things done to take my mind off analysing every little twinge!0 -
Feeling really sorry for myself today. Getting lots of aches and pains , around back and bump. Baby wriggling and kicking like mad tho. Not sure whats wrong , maybe just over doing it at work and at home. Went to bed at half 8 last night so got OBEM on sky planner so will hopefully watch that tonight. Have been reconsidering feeding options and think I might go with breast feeding.... Have bought loads of avent bottles and steriliser tho . Sorry to be so dim but what do I need for breastfeeding other than boobs? Can I still use bottles for expressed milk? Is it naive to think that I will be able to express in the early days and be able to take bottles out with me etc instead of having to whap boob out ?Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

lablover You will need a breast pump that fits your Avent bottles if you plan on expressing - I have heard some people say that it can be quite difficult to express at first as baby is much more efficient than a pump at getting milk out.
Although I've never done it so I don't really know....:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
thanks Apricot , when I mentioned to my mum that I might express she said " youll have your baby glued to your breast for the first few weeks " Lol

Lablover, i intend to breastfeed and i have some bottles and a pump too. With dd2 i found that my boobs got so engorged that i had to get some milk out, so expressed it and froze it til i needed it. It also sometimes takes the edge of when you get sore nips.
But everyone is different i'm afraid, i didn't really have any problems bf'ing with dd2 but couldn't stand doing it with dd1 and ds1, so gave up with them straight away. Maybe its because i'm older now, i loved the bond that i got with dd2 from bf'ing:)Henry James Born 18/03/2011-11 days late!:)

Morning everyone!
Have been lurking over the weekend, did try posting but my phone deleted the thing twice so it wasn't meant to be :mad:
Congratulations Krystal, wow 11lbs I'm in awe that you managed on tens & g&a (must order my tens now!). The pic of the 3 girls is gorgeous
Good luck Tickle, hope all goes well :j
I have 5 weeks left at work :j:j and only one of those is a full week!! How did I get so close to having a baby!!
Well, I managed to get away to see my friend this weekend, it was really nice to see her, spent the weekend either driving or gossiping and cuddling her 3 month old
She is using a sling she made herself :money:and her baby adores it, it seemed fab actually, she can feed him while he's in it and it means she can get on with stuff. It is literally just a big piece of material that she ties around herself and him - really easy to do, plus even better she made one for me (which I forgot so she's posting) so I can give it a go. She just did some googling about it and found it - I've not found it myself but will have a look when I'm not at work!
Anyhow, sorry for the long self indulgent post - hope everyone is well and will try and get on a bit more this week.

Are you getting a breast pump?
Yes Im going to get a pump - I was thinking of getting an electric one though as I thought it might be easier (haven't really looked too closely at them yet though). I've got some tommee tippee bottles ready though as my auntie breastfed her 3 children and none of them would ever take a bottle as she didn't try to introduce it until quite late 4/5 months - if possible I'd like baby to have at least one bottle a day just so they are used to it if I ever need to go anywhere without them.
Edit: Bargain Breast Pump here
I don't know where I would store expressed milk though - my fridge and freezer are both quite small. Anybody know how long breastmilk stays fresh in the fridge?:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Glad you had a nice trip ema. I so need a holiday , even a "home " holiday would be great. Doesnt help that Ive had half a dozen e-mails from companies Ive registered up to saying " Congrats your 21 weeks pregnant , now would be a great time to go on holiday " 21 weeks is the prefect time to travel... yadda yadda...
Im thinking of taking next friday off for some me time , might fill out a slip now while I can still remember. Thanks for advice JoJo , I havent a clue about any of it. My boobs are massive thats partially whats changed my mind about b/feeding , they are so big and sore ( for me anyways, not quite @ Katie Price stage)and it seems a shame to waste them. So could you feed during the day and then express for night time feed so that OH can do it ? Or is it a faff? Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!
