  • Thanks for the lovely welcomes ladies x

Hey Rockin, I'm attending Antrim Area and yes the scan last week was my dating scan and booking in appt together - not sure if thats how they do it everywhere as from reading online most peeps seem to have their BI appt with the MW a few weeks before the scan? I did have a meeing with the midwife at the GP practice a few weeks ago but it was just a 10 minute informal chat about nothing and she said they are no longer meant to be seeing peeps there until the 16 week appt*shrugs* Its all such a minefield to me! I take it you're at the RVH then? Hope you're pregnancy is going well, not long to go for you now:D

I think AAH must be different from the RVH....I had a scan at 12, 20, 24, 28, 32 and 36. My 16 weeks was with my GP

    Morning ladies :D

Where are you all......maybe all sleeping!! I had a decents nights sleep DD woke up at 2.50am and we had a wee bit of a struggle getting her back down but she did go back to her own bed and I never heard a peep out of her until 8am! The thing is the telly was on and the big living room light was on too (which she can't reach) so I presume she got up when Dh was still here and he leaves for work at 6.50am so she left me in peace all that time, wee soul!

I started to panic a wee bit last night about the whole giving birth thing, it has never bothered me until now, I suppose maybe because it is getting nearer. I know i can do it, I have done it before and it was quite a good birth on the whole, it just seems to be a bit more real all of a sudden!

I slept until 8.55 :O slept from about 12 right through!!!! that's good for me lmao

    Aaaw lovely pic Chakani

    Hi Ladies
We need to get back to SIL tonight about some baby stuff she's offering. I just wanted to get opinions on whether it's worth saying yes or not? I'm hoping to BF but not sure if I should bet the bottle stuff just in case?

Baby Einstein lights & sounds bounce chair - £15
Baby Bjorn active front carrier & rain cover - £25
Play arch / gym - Free
    Brst Pump £10
    Tens Machine - Borrow
Tommee Tippee Bottles / teats - Free
    Bottle holder / warmer x2 - £10
    Bottle Steriliser - Free
    Tummy Tub - £5
    Inflateable bath - £5

I'd take everything she's offering for free, but not anything else. Think it's cheeky of her personally. I got a brand new TT breast pump for £10 in the Asda sale. The bottle warmer is not necessary, just boil a kettle and sit bottle in the water for a bit until warmed. The other bits seem very expensive for second hand things, but not sure what they are brand new. I'd certainly have a look around myself for price comparisons and whether they are actually the products you want.
BABY NEWS BABY NEWS BABY NEWS!!!!!

    From Lilacpixie

ava catherine arrived this morning at 7.36am. 8lb 3. I'm fine daddy tired and in shock

Soooooo glad I could announce this for her hehe :D:D:D:D

Congratulations to LP and to Chakani - both lovely names :T

Regarding the cravings again. I am having a boy, but at the beginning thought I was having a girl as I listened to all the old wives tales. I have suffered from awful 24/7 nausea throughout, baby has a fast heartbeat and I looked pretty carp, which all pointed towards a girl :rotfl: Also the sweet cravings. However now I am pretty much over the nausea, bubs will let me eat pretty much anything, though he did NOT like the tin of salmon I had - felt absolutely awful afterwards!
However, my hair is thicker and stronger and nails grow better and are stronger, which they say you have with a boy. Also *touch wood* not been spotty, which is fantastic! Boy's are supposed to make their mothers glow, I wouldn't go that far, but certainly all the symptoms/experiences I have would mean that you can't believe everything you read! :rotfl:

Chakani - What a lovely picture!

Woop woop in baby news for lilacpixie!

List is getting A LOT shorter and the fact that in 5 days we're halfway through the second month of this year is scary! I honestly feel that new years happened yesterday! That means that summer is getting closer and closer and will probably creep up on me and take me by surprise D:

Re: cravings. I've been craving lemon, tomato, sour things in general and spicy things. (Cannot wait to have grilled piri piri chicken this weekend with extra lemon) At the start I was so sure that it was a girl due to the excruciatingly high rate of morning sickness but as it's gone on I have a funny, funny feeling that it's a boy :S Well we shall find out in exactly 3 weeks (if baby cooperates, of course)

    Ooooooh good luck salski!

Digital - have you decided on your mattress yet for the M&S cot? - I am planning a trip to Ikea perhaps at the weekend and was going to have a look as I'm getting mine delivered shortly.
