But that's not really a direct comparison though, as the Samsung one is not full HD.
If the Silvercrest TV is anything like the DVD player, then it should be of good quality.0 -

and to see any difference between 720p and 1080p on a 32 inch TV you would have to have super human eyes.
I would rather have the Samsung anyday.0 -
Trust me,the Samsung will be a MUCH better TV0

But no Freeview HD. Everyone is getting rid of the non Freeview HD TVs.Nice to save.0

As Griizelda said, why not make a DIRECT comparison with the model that's the same spec such as this :

Which is the full HD version of the one you pushed which is £307.94 with the warranty (IF you can get one - check the stock availability), it's only 3 HDMI and no USB, so now we're seeing a fairer comparison aren't we for what appears to be a 23% increase in money which kinda defeats the initial point of the forum and the post does it not.
The point was it was what it was for £249
There's always going to be better specced TV's when you go up in price
Don't skew the comparisons, quote like for like.0 -
As far as I can see, the only downside to this TV is the lack of Freeview HD support. Could it support Freeview HD through use of exterior hardware?
I'm seriously considering getting it as I know how easily Lidl refund stuff without proof of faults.0 -

How do you know this, without conducting a side by side review, though? And why should we 'trust you'? And like gazwood pointed out, you aren't comparing like for like, anyway. I sometimes think TV snobs are similar to wine snobs - it's more expensive, it has a brand name so it must be better. It's not always the case, as I proved to my wine snob friend recently in a blind test. Not literally, of course, so you could also do this with these tvs0 -
Is this the one with the brilliant 178/178 viewing angles?
It will say so on the box if it is.0
