'Online S@ver V7 is a variable price tariff. This means your price could go up or down'. Bummer!

    Hi,

Just to let everyone know that the prices on uSwitch HAVE been updated to reflect EDF's price change.

    Lauren

I just ran a comparison on Uswitch and the rate shown for Online Saver 7 is the same as before.

Does that mean you haven't received the proposed change to that tariff?

My information is that the OS7 rate will also change along with the standard tariff.
  • the information i have given is correct, although the online tarrifs are not fixed tarrifs the set unit rates and day rates that have been around are staying the same and are not effected by the price increase, this is 100% fact!

Just tried uSwutch too and the prices look the same.

I've just switched from Scottish Power standard rate that basically 'came with the house'. I think anything will be better than my current rate but I want to make sure my Online Saver 8 is not going to go up to a ridiculous amount.

I'm still within the cooling off period. So long as they're not clawing back the savings given to existing customers over the winter from new customers I'm not too bothered.

Is the online saver 8 with hiked prices still competitive? How do find the charges?

    Thanks

How can this be the case if EDF are saying all Variable Tariffs are going to be effected.

If you can Guarantee V7 will not rise what is your source.

    Cheers

Waiting for the £100 incentive and TCB cashback to come through for switching to Online 7.

If it does affect Online S@ver 7, this appears to be a planned and very cynical marketing ploy (more than normal!) as they have been playing the "we look after consumers" card over the winter and using the incentive to reel people in, tied people in with early redemption penalties if you leave before December 2011 and then whacked their prices up more than most other suppliers (which they will have planned to do since their winter guarantee was launched).

  • the thing is , at least this price rise IS after the heavy winter use - so whilst it was expected , they did at least keep to the advertising.

It's hard to imagine a fact which is other than 100%. :D

Have you listened to a doorstep salesperson whose facts are anything but ? ;)

I suspect you may be even more depressed, depressed :o

I work within the utilities industry and the info we have been given is that the online savers are not affected by the price increase and those tariffs with the higher rate/lower rates will be changing to having a standing charge and all units charged at one rate.

I'm not back in work till Tuesday but if I get any more info I'll let you know x

I've just check on Uswitch & uk power and if the prices have been changed like the rep above says, i wondering if the confusion is within regional differences as our V6 deal is showing as the same unit price, where as other have gone up....be nice if it does and for once fairer as our starting unit price is still higher then the increased tarrif that some have stated,
