Thank you all for your hugs and warm wishes. It's been a busy and emotional couple of weeks and the tiredness is only just starting to hit me. Had a lovely lay in until just gone 8.00 this morning but was feeling tired again by mid-afternoon - think a nanna-nap may be on the cards if I'm feeling like this tomorrow.

Thank you for your kind words about my diary Jodles,I'm pleased it didn't bore you too much and hopefully you've found a useful tip or two while reading through it. :)

Did I mention that I'd applied to have a water meter fitted? Well the engineer came round and said it wasn't possible to fit one - he suspected that I'd end up paying for the entire row of housings water - no thanks! Anyway, he took photos and said he'd speak to the water company and see what they could do. I got a letter from them a few days ago saying that because they couldn't fit me a meter they'd give me a single persons discount, which seems to have virtually halved my water bill. :T The money saved will be going into the op pot. I also received a £10 voucher from sw@gbucks yesterday which will be going towards the xmas fund.

I've been phoning round to change various accounts into my Nanna's name today and have managed to save her about £60 a month on her current bills, so I think it's been a day well spent despite the sad circumstances. :) I've got another company to phone next week so I'm hoping to save her a bit more money there.

The garden is continuing to provide lots of yummy goodies. It's been a bit neglected recently so I need to give it a bit of tlc tomorrow. I did start off some pea-shoots earlier this week so I'm intrigued to see how they get on.

I feel like I'm coming down with a cold today - bleugh :(, I hope that it's just tiredness.

Hope you've had a good Saturday.

Morning MG - good to see you. Sending you a well meaning (but slightly dodgy looking hug!) :grouphug:

The feeling under the weather could be down to all the emotional stress of the last couple of weeks. I lost my grandad at new year and I found that it had last effect on me too. Be kind to yourself

Good news re: water payment. I've never heard a water company say they can't fit one before - but great result :T

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

LOL! I bet someone had a giggle when they came up with that one!

I think you might be right there as I slept really well last night but still felt drained by mid-afternoon today. I'll try not to push myself too much (back to work tomorrow though :() and will try to get as much rest as I can.

Yep, even in my gloom, I did a mini air punch when I got the letter. ;)

    Have a lovely evening,

Evening all - I haven't updated for a while so thought it was time I got my backside into gear. Work has been busy and I've spent quite a bit of time at my Nanna's helping her sort out a few bits and pieces and having lots of tea and cake. I think we've got most things sorted now.

I've been busily op-ing in the background and I'm hoping that in the next few months my outstanding mortgage figure will begin with a 3 - lovely. :) The garden is still very productive so I've been batch cooking lots of goodies to use everything up - mainly pasta sauces using courgettes, summer squash and tomatoes. It makes a very quick and healthy tea after a busy day at work. I've also been cooking up stir fry's on an evening using garden goodies and last night had courgette and pepper pizza with a homemade tomato base sauce (basically tomatoes cooked in a bit of olive oil with a couple of cloves of garlic then blitzed in the blender and frozen in silicone muffin trays to make the perfect portion size). I feel like I've wasted much less from the garden this year, so much so that I've had a letter from N1elsen telling me that I must make sure that I scan all of my shopping as the amount I spend seems to be much less than people similar to me - I take that as a result! ;)

Last night I discovered that my 'suspected' leak in the breadpan of my breadmaker was an actual leak so I decided to shop around for a new one and discovered that the cheapest replacement breadpan is £57! I love my breadmaker and have owned it for about 9 years so it really doesn't owe me anything, but I'm reluctant to fork out for a new one when it works perfectly fine and all I need is a replacement breadpan. So I've got a bit of a dilemma - buy a new breadmaker for £113 or spend almost £60 on a breadpan. I could buy a cheaper brand of breadmaker but I'm really happy with my Panasonic one so was hoping for something similar. Hmmmm... any suggestions or recommendations?:o I might have to do some research.

In other news, I signed up at the library a few weeks ago and discovered that once you've signed up you can access electronic copies of loads of magazines online - there's all sorts ranging from Runner's World to National Geographic, anyway I'm pleased to say that I now have free access to the Gardener's World magazine on my iPad. I was considering buying a subscription so that's a few pounds saved. :T

Ooh there goes the bell - my crumble's ready! I'll hopefully be back later to catch up on everyone's diaries.
