Thanks BW, it's been a rather manic week but I'm soooo pleased that the weekend is here. Hope you're enjoying your long weekend and the weather is being kind to you. :)

So apart from work been a bit blurgh this week I've redeemed a £15 voucher on sw@gbucks and I'm well on my way to another £10 one. As usual I've transferred the cash into my op pot. I've also managed to sell some books on fb, so that's another £4.00 and I sold a couple of books on Am@zon, I'm just waiting for the money to hit my account and then that'll be another £5.00 to throw at the mortgage. Every little helps :)

In other greenfingered news, the tomato plants are coming along nicely and I've managed to grow about 15 pepper plants in my electric propagator so I'm really pleased. Not that I have room for all of them, but last year it was such a struggle to get anything to germinate so I'm feeling very pleased with myself and I'm sure I'm almost walking around with a ready-brek glow! ;)

I'm hoping to get a few garden bits done this weekend plus some decluttering but it's going to be quite a busy one as I'm at a little gathering for my Nanna's 80th this afternoon and going out for a family fish and chip lunch tomorrow, so we'll just see what happens. I did a load of housework last night so that's one thing I can tick off my list.

Right, time to make a (very optimistic) to-do list and get cracking.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi BW - yes i'm having a lovely weekend so far thank you. Having a very lazy Sunday at my partner's house today and was brought a lovely cooked breakfast in bed so i'm being spoilt today :) We did a carboot sale with my dad yesterday - I only managed to make about £15 as there were lots of browsers but very few buyers but I've managed to get rid of a few more of my 'treasures' which has cleared some space and given me some more money to add to the op pot so I'm happy. I've also sold a few bits on fb and Am@zon through the week too, as well as claimed a £10 voucher on CP so it's been quite a profitable week really. I'm also close to another £15 cashout on sw@gbucks and my ne0bux account is coming along nicely so my little routines are paying off.;)

In 'housey' news, I'm still busy tending to my tomato, pepper and chilli plants. The broad beans and mangetout have yet to surface but the basil plants are starting to germinate and I think i'll be able to pick some rhubarb later on this week. I need to look at my planting times spreadsheet and get a few more things started so I'll probably do that tomorrow.

We also went to a certain big DIY store yesterday and picked up some paint and polyfilla for the kitchen. Once I'm MF I'm hoping to have it extended and have a brand new kitchen fitted but for the moment I just want tidy up the cracks in the wall from the rubbish plastering job the previous owners did and tidy it up a bit with a fresh coat of paint...although part of me is thinking, shall I just bite the bullet and have it done now. :o

Well done on all the vouchers and points, etc. They all add up and somehow seems nicer spending 'free money' earned like that.

Oooh tempting isn't it? I think that's the problem once you start doing things, you see lots of other stuff you want to do or you start thinking of changes/upgrades/etc.

I've been doing a bit of DIY and tidying up this weekend and I've had to rein myself in from getting carried away :o

Yep I think I need to plan my DIY endeavors carefully. I do have a lot of little jobs that I need to get done so I think I'll focus on those first before I begin to tackle the big ones.

I've made the most of the sunshine today and have been out in the garden. I got loads of veggies seeds planted (carrot, chive, cucumber, mangetout, runner bean, kale, cabbage), repotted my pepper plants, treated the lawn with feed and weed, cleaned the chooks and dug out their run so now I have a compost bin brimming with chicken manure goodness. I'm going to use it on the flower beds and veggie patches in November once it's had time to break down a little. It was backbreaking work but I'm so pleased that I've got it done. The chooks followed me every step of the way and really enjoyed their wormy treats. I suspect I'll be feeling a bit stiff at work tomorrow as my back's already feeling a bit twingy so I'm sat with a hot water bottle on it - oops :o

I've managed to source some bargain woodchip so I'm going to go and pick that up next weekend and hopefully build a polytunnel for the cabbage and kale plants that I've planted today. I'll need to source some decent netting to go over it too but will wait til the frame's built so I know what size I'm looking for. I think it's time to renew the current tree cabbage plants as they've been going for three years and their stems are very woody. Their leaves still taste fine but they're getting a bit too big now - well over 1 meter high and are quite wide too so they take up a fair bit of room. I saved some seed from them last year so have used that to start new plants off. I've got loads of seed left so if anyone wants any then just ask.

Well I'm hoping it brightens up today or my polytunnel plans will have to be put on hold. I've bought the tubing this week (25m of blue water pipe) and have had the wood for the frame cut to size and prepared by two lovely people from work so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sunshine - or at least that the rain holds off. I've also got a load of washing to hang out so it would be really helpful if it didn't rain!

I was awake early this morning so have already 'shredded' and done a few house jobs. Today I'm hoping to mostly potter around the garden and get a few bits done. I planted some cucumber seeds on Monday, put them in my electric propogator and couldn't believe it when I looked yesterday and they've all germinated and are about 5cm tall! So they'll need repotting and putting in the greenhouse today. I've also been given a connector pipe for the greenhouse guttering so that I can connect it to a water butt (aka old black dustbin) so I'd like to get that done today too. I also need to go and collect my bargain woodchip. ;)

I checked my mortgage account yesterday and I'm now officially below £47k :) - my next big target is to get below £40k by the end of the year. I've managed to make a few little op's this week as I've had a £10 voucher come through from valued ops and made £1.66 on a book sale. I've also sold another couple of books on Am@zon so there'll be more to add once the money hits my account. I got quite a decent bonus on Sw@gbucks of 500 points so I'm pretty close now to being able to redeem a £25 voucher. I also joined Geolotto a couple of days ago after reading about it on the 'Make £10 a day' challenge, it's free to play and I'm up to almost £2.00 after just 3 days, cash out is at £5.00 so I'll see how it goes. If anyone would like to sign up and be kind enough to use my referral code then please pm me, I'm happy to provide guidance/tips etc. :)

Right time for a quick cuppa and to catch up on a few threads.

    Have a lovely Saturday.

Thanks BW :D If you had more sunshine than we did over here then I'd have certainly taken you up on your offer. It's been a very blustery and showery weekend with brief glimmers of glorious sunshine but I did manage to renew the woodchip in the chicken run and build the frame for the polytunnel so I'm happy. I've done the usual housey jobs this weekend too and felt so tired at lunchtime that I went to bed for a couple of hours - think I need to make sure that I have a few restful evenings this week. Geolotto is going well, a lovely person used my referral code so I had an extra 200 coins to spend today and my total is now almost at £5.00 - not bad considering I only signed up a few days ago. ;)
