Hi mortgage girl, good to see you posting. Good luck knocking off those months, you have done brilliantly so far and I'm sure you won't have a mortgage in 42 months.

Our heating is mostly off but DH put it on for a few hours the other day to dry clothes. Nothing nicer coming home off holiday to a clean house, have a lovely break.

Thanks CathT. Tackled the dreaded packing today and think I'm almost there. Just hoping it stops raining so that I can clean the chooks and then I'm all set. Trying to use up what's in the fridge before I go, so had a mushroom and spinach omelet for lunch and I'm about to whizz up a smoothie with some leftover fruit. Sticky marmalade duck for tea with salad and sweet potato wedges.

    Have a great Sunday everyone.

Oh it was yummy although I had a couple of disasters - once defrosted I realised that it wasn't duck breast but two small ducks i'd taken out so once I'd removed and cooked the breasts they'd shrunk to scallop sized portions - oops! :rotfl: Then I burnt the sweet potato wedges - the recovered ones were tasty though and with a side serving of salad it filled a hole! :p

I'm backkk!!! I've had a lovely few days away but now feel completely exhausted - is it just me that feels drained after coming back home or does anyone else feel like that too? :o So today I've done a bit of tidying up and been to @ldi to restock my cupboards, I've a veg order to go and collect a it later and that's about it. If I feel a bit more enthusiastic when I get back then I may get on with a few jobs... or I may just sit and read. ;)

It was payday while I was away so I've done the money shuffle and made my monthly op, and when my actual mortgage payment goes out in a few days time I'll be officially sub £48k on the mortgage - hooray! It's hard to believe that I now own over half of my house.

I came home to find that I'd sold another book on Am@zon so I must package that up later, and if I muster enough enthusiasm I'll tackle my remaining bookshelf later and get a few more listed online. If not then my konmarie efforts will have to wait until tomorrow. :D I've a few books that I've nearly finished that really need my attention too so it's a tough choice - tidy or read...hmmmm...;) One book I've been reading is 'Your Money or Your Life' and it's already got me thinking about saving towards early retirement - I keep having to remind myself there's a mortgage to pay off first! But it's certainly thought provoking once you get past the 'maths' aspect (I did put it down for a few months and have come back to it with fresh eyes). I'm also reading the konmarie book and a novel called 'The State We're In', which has pretty much got me gripped, oh and I'm rereading 168 hours - a book about time management (sounds dull but is really interesting - honest). So there's plenty for me to lose myself in if I'm feeling really lazy...who knows, I may even crack open an Easter egg! :rotfl:

Right enough waffle - time to go and do something!

    Hi MG

I was just coming by to see when you are back and I can see that I have missed you getting back from your trip  I notice that was a while ago now too so hope all ok. I see you were reading a KM book so hope you haven't tidied yourself away :rotfl:

:T on getting your mortgage down and brilliant that you own half your house :j

Thanks for stopping by BW and thank you for your kind words  Nope, haven't tidied myself away, I've been busy decluttering my home (it's a slow process but I am getting there :)), sorting the garden ready for the growing season and have had a really busy first week back at work.

I've sold a few books on Am@zon and a few other bits and pieces on the fb selling page. I've listed a few more bits today so hopefully I'll keep on a roll with clearing out my stash of 'treasures'. I'm being very careful not to bring too many new ones into my home too... although I have bought myself some much needed new clothes this month. I've discovered H&M (probably not a good thing in the long run). I've never thought of looking in there before but they seem to have some really lovely things for bargain prices so I've topped up my 'work' wardrobe. I've also discovered that if you take your old clothes or household textiles in to be recycled they'll give you a £5 voucher to use off your next £30 spend so I'll probably take advantage of that offer too. ;)

Right off to feed 'n' weed the lawn. Looking forward to catching up with some diaries later.

Good to see you back MG :)

Well done on all the decluttering. I've written myself a list of house jobs and I'm slowly working through them over a number of weeks. That way I get them done without it feeling too overwhelming. Works for me anyway.

I have also done a little gardening today... but it's not something that comes naturally to me. I've even got a blister :(

Enjoy the rest of the weekend
