That's what the disk defragmenter is for. I have a 500MB disk cache and have never experienced any slow down. Unless that's an IE only related problem. Of course it all depends on what your system is. A 500MB disk cache on a 10GB HDD would be excessive. Also those on unlimited broadband shouldn't need very much at all whilst it saves a load of time on dial-up to have a larger cache.
