    I think your stupid...

Why has it come to this that these days people doing the right thing need to have their intentions questioned?
  • It was a fraudulent injury claim following a car accident. I have reported them because it is illegal.

    Standard issue whiplash claim?

I think the way your dad sees it is whatever your relative has done to the family in the past, over exaggerating an insurance claim for personal injury (and we only have your word for that) is not a good reason to report him or her for fraud.

You realise that information is useless unless you make a signed statement and are prepared to give evidence in court when called to do so.

If the fraudulent claim 'as you put it' is backed up with doctors notes, etc.
your gonne feel a right plonker in court when you testify that thats what somebody who told somebody who told
some of yur family that its a fraudulent claim.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

No I wont feel a right plonker, thank you very much.

The case will come to fruition if there's proof. When you make an insurance claim I believe you also agree to allow your medical notes to be viewed by the insurance company. If this is the case there will be evidence that the medical issue existed prior to the accident.

A case will not be brought to court if no-one carries out any investigation and produces sufficient evidence - just imagine how many cases that would create

I really get the impression that you are very immature.

You didnt report them because it is illegal, thats a cover for a multitude of things,
spite, jealousy, misplaced superiority, etc. gotta be one of them, not just because it is illegal, do you think we are stupid.

Ah, well here lies the downside of a forum.
I have no reason to feel spite, misplaced superiority etc etc.
No, I don't think anyone here is stupid, although perhaps occasionally people come here looking for an argument.
  • people are quick to bash those who make claims for injuries in RTA's on here, but whats confused me is that the OP has reported a family member for fraud and it is fraud as he's claiming he didnt have a certain something before an RTA wich he did so he's trying to defraud.

so the op's getting bashed because she's doing the right thing???

you would all be shouting at OP to report family member if the post read i know someone who is claiming compo for a condition that existed before the accident.

just because its a family member doesnt means its OK to do it does it? NO!!

i think your right, i would do the same, good on you. It's upsetting that as soon as an accident occurs people think ''can i get a claim for personal injury?'' i blame the T.V.

you are also correct on the bashers.

Without being rude, I think you should have just kept your nose out of that persons business. Reporting the fraud is going to cause you more trouble between the family than it would with the insurance company. Way to go for loosing your family's trust.
