I had the email saying I would get the replacement card but I haven't received it yet.

Today is the day after the Top-up was supposed to end but it's still working fine. I am hesitant to put money onto it or to use it again until I know where I stand.

Also the small balance left on it has not yet been transferred to my PayPal account.

I believe it will be mid April when new cards will be issued.
• Thanks for that.
• Pleas beware - that if you have a balance on the Paypal card - like I did, it doesn't automatically get transferred back to your paypal account. I've learned today that it will take between 15-35 Days to be credited !

I have a few hundred pounds on it - I'm rather shocked to say the least. In fact that's absolute theft and doesn't state anything about doing this in the card T's&C's.

I'm trying to escalate a complaint - and have just been told I'll be contacted within a week - probably in writing.

Absolutely shocking.

This is a surprising developement! Not something I would expect from a company like PayPal. I imagine it's a separate group running the "Top-up" division but still...

I use my card for small purchases only on Ebay and don't wish to use any other card/bank, so it's left me in the lurch. Only £37 on the card but it's the principle and I imagine they will not be rushing to transfer the money to my PayPal account. If they ever do...

I would have arranged to get another top-up card if I had known I was not to be one of the privaliged few.

Here from the email from October last year
"If you are happy for us to share your data with PrePay Solutions in order to facilitate the replacement of your Top Up Card, you are not required to do anything."

So breach of contract on their part it seems. I allowed the data sharing in order to facilitate a card replacement, not so that "PrePay Solutions" could have a look-see at my account in order to cherry pick the most profitable.

This seems like both a data protection issue and a FSA issue!

BEWARE !

This email takes you to a non paypal site, and asks you to log in with your paypal email and password.

The usual way is to use your card number and password.

You should only navigate to paypal via your web browser, rather than an emailed link.

I have a different email address registered with the card, yet the email came through to my main paypal account address.

I have reported this to spoof@paypal.com

I suggest anyone receiving this does the same.

Surely they ask you to log in with these details because your card number and password were for the top up card run by RBS, which is closed and nothing to do with them?

Is the site it diverts you to Prepay technologies? If so, they are running the card - and until you get the card numer for your new account, how can you use your card number?

Also, the new card takes money from your paypal account directly - so surely they will have to have direct access to this?

I must admit though - Paypals silence and lack of info on their site is a disgrace.

Sorry, but we were all told back in October that they would take around 15 days to put the money back into paypal accounts. Anyone who did not empty their card, as i did, only as themselves to blame.

Mine is also now blocked, and there is a credit there - £17.00 - which I wasn't aware off, hey ho, I expect it will reach Paypal eventually.

Still no sign of the replacement card.
• Hi guys

Like most of you I'm disgusted in the way paypal has handled the switch over from RBS to prepay.

I have just sent a complaint to paypal and would like to know what organization to contact? Regarding giving paypal permission (by doing nothing) to send personal details to prepay for a new card and paypal using my details and not receiving a new card.
