Shoes not fit for purpose after 6 days

24

Comments

  • Regardless of whether they are designed as school shoes or not they should certainly last longer than that. I would expect even a cheap pair to last at least a couple of months.

There really isn't "incorrect usage" that could have caused that (other thatn ridiculous things). They are clearly not fit for purpose.

Respond quoting SOGA and show them you mean business. I bet they back down.

...she won't wear her Skechers now because some child started singing the song from the advert to her...
Kids are horrible sometimes, and very sensitive at others. Thank all that's good that I will never be a teenager again.

I emailed them back yesterday morning asking what they deem is incorrect use and surely if nobody else has complained about these shoes then surely that means the pair my niece has could be faulty.
I have mentioned SOGA in my email,i await their reply.

    Thanks for all your imput.

I dont think Golddigga shoes are designed as everyday School shoes, you pay for the fashion name rather than the quality.

However having said that I have no idear what type of shoe you purchased or if it was designed as an everyday pair so its just my opinion.
Irrelevant, they are shoes. Shoes should last longer than six days.

i had a similar problem with shoezone (although that was the ONLY time I have ever bought shoes from there and would never do so again), both soles split right across the bottom when it was tipping down with rain, i had to wear carrier bags over my socks so i could get to the shop and complain and the SA was having none of it so I went to head office and they had the issue sorted within 48 hours.

If there is a higher level you can take this to, then you should do
I have had many an argument with ShoeZone. As vegetarians, the choice of shoes for children are limited. We are normally stuck with US Brass, or similar. The soles only last a couple of weeks. We bring them back and get accused of "misuse" (I think it is a stock response). When we ask what constitutes as "misuse" we get told, "wearing them at school." The promotional material in the store says, something along the lines of, "ideal for school" and "Back to School," accompanied by a picture of a child, in school uniform, wearing the shoes. Quoting SoGA and carrying a print out of the relevant sections, mostly does the trick.

Well i've had another email response. So they are still saying that general wear and tear isn't a fault, but how can 6 days use be classed as general wear and tear.

From my understanding you have ordered some shoes and the shoes have worn out in a short space of time. The shoes in question already contain quite a thin sole, which is also made out of rubber. I imagine that any wear would show up quicker than regular shoes for this reason and will largely depend on the type of use they are experiencing.

Please be assured that our items have passed the relevant quality testing and are ex-catalogue stock, with the sales history involved we are confident that there is not an issue with regards to the workmanship of the item.

We accept items back in the event of an item being Faulty or Damaged, however as with most retailers we do not class general wear and tear as a fault.

If your query has somehow been misunderstood can you please provide further clarification and also images of the Fault so this can be assessed further.

    Regards

  • Respond thanking them for their email but saying that you think that they may have misunderstood your complaint.

Say that whilst rubber soles may show wear quicker than other shoes they should not wear down in a week.

Tell them that if the shoes have passed a quality test then there must be a fault with the particular pair.

Repeat that the are not fit for purpose and you require a refund in accordance with SOGA.

Say that you will allow them 7 days to comply and then you will revert to trading standards.

    Are theses the shoes?

If the are, there is nothing on the description that says that they wear quicker than other shoes. Neither does it say that they should not be worn, as one would normally wear other shoes.

When did you buy the shoes?
