Bought some shoes for my friends daughter for part of her birthday pressie, shes worn them solely for school and after 6 days they have completely worn down and almost have a hole in them,i emailed Halfcost and this is their reply shown below, they basically don't want to know, but you don't expect to be fobbed off like this,is there anything else i can do?thanks.
Dear *****
Thank you for your recent e-mail.
Sorry to hear that the rubber soles of the Golddigga shoes have worn down. We have sold a large quantity of these shoes and have not encountered similar complaints, as such we do not feel that the item is faulty. They could have worn down quickly due to some kind of incorrect use. I'm afraid we would not be able to accept them back in this condition.
Sorry for any disappointment caused by this.
Regards
Darryl

I would ask them what kind of "incorrect use" they believe a little girl could have possibly done by wearing some shoes for 6 days, and that you find their response not only disappointing but also unreasonable. The shoes are neither of satisfactory quality nor fit for purpose, and as such you look forward to recieving a replacement or a refund shortly.0

I dont think Golddigga shoes are designed as everyday School shoes, you pay for the fashion name rather than the quality.
However having said that I have no idear what type of shoe you purchased or if it was designed as an everyday pair so its just my opinion.0 -
Whether they are specifically designed for everyday school use or not I would still expect them to last more than 6 days.
I agree with Mary. Ask for a full refund and be insistent! Good luck!0 -

Halfcost is an internet site so the child could not have had them fitted before purchase.
If they do not fit properly then the child will be putting more pressure on the probably cheap quality shoes. 6 days of wearing ill fitting shoes and they would show signs of wear.
Really need to know what kind of shoes they are.0 -
She's a teenager, yes i agree these type of "dolly" shoes aren't meant to last, but i too would expect them to last longer than six days.
THey were only cheap but it's not the point, you don't expect shoes to last a week.
It's not as though it's a boy climbing trees in them,it's a girl wearing them to school,i've no idea what they are implying by incorrect use, she's walked in them, that's all.
Thank you for your replies.0 -
Incorrect use may include things like riding a motorbike, playing sports, running, mincing, etc! They are certainly classed as a "fashion shoe", so probably "meant" to be worn for 2 hours on a Friday night as opposed to daily/only footwear. That said, 6 days is still somewhat short, I'd stand your ground under SoGA - they must still be "fit for purpose" (although are they purposed as a daily/school shoe?).
Still better than a pair of shoes I bought on the high street specifically for an interview though - they were comfy if a bit cheapy looking, the soles split before I got into the meeting room! I had about 30 mins wear from them! Alas I couldn't take them back with the timings of the trains etc so just had to write them off as an interview cost and bin them!0 -
i had a similar problem with shoezone (although that was the ONLY time I have ever bought shoes from there and would never do so again), both soles split right across the bottom when it was tipping down with rain, i had to wear carrier bags over my socks so i could get to the shop and complain and the SA was having none of it so I went to head office and they had the issue sorted within 48 hours.

I bought a pair of flat boots in new look - wore them a handful of times and the sole split across the bottom. I took them back (had only had them a week) and new look didnt want to know as I had worn them!0

Are these the shoes?
I suppose it depends how rigid the sole is, but at £4.99 they are very cheap shoes.
My DD (also a teen) loves the £3 ballet flats from Primark for school, that said they easily last a month.0 -
Yes that's the shoes, they were only bought as temporary school shoes as she won't wear her Skechers now because some child started singing the song from the advert to her and she won't wear them now as others have got on the bandwagon and started taking the mickey so she's refusing to wear them, kids eh lol0
