The dress is lovely and Jedward did us proud!! I did think they were a tiny bit better in the semi-finals though!

Has your "friend" EVER worked? I'm facing the prospect of being on the dole in jan after being made redundant if I can't find another job and the thought is really depressing me. Actually choosing to live on it is incomprehensible to me!

Yay another Jedward fan :j My mother thinks they must be on drugs :rotfl: I can understand why someone would think that but to the best of my celebrity knowledge they're not, it's more a case of hyperactivity combined with immaturity.

@Kerry Nothing like your situation- she worked at a deli counter for a few months and another 2-3 months part time in a nursing home. Not much for someone who's 34. She just decided that with benefits like a medical card she's better off this way than if she did work.

But she's never had to suffer the inconvenience of a grotty bedsit or anything of the like. She lives with her parents who provide all the boring household stuff, food, phone, tv, heat, etc. She doesn't really contribute anything to them either, like housework, cooking, money towards food/bills/petrol (she doesn't drive)

I have a serious problem with how she can spend as she did today and then announce that she didn't get her parents a Christmas present because she's not working

I wouldn't choose to be friends with her. She was in my class at school and has always kept in touch, I can't shake her off but so long as I only meet her every few months I can cope ;)

    Well said Souk! :A

And I actually thought the first dress was hideous, even on the size 8 model! ;)

Helped another friend out today by working in his bar (for free). Hated it, the actual job is fine, it's the dealing with people part I hate. There's one girl in particular there who hates me. I think she's jealous of me which is ridiculous because if she had offered to help then I wouldn't have been there at all.

Got given a phone number from some guy who was trying to chat me up all day. No chance I'll be ringing him but I feel slightly bad because he wasted half his day on me. I'm almost certain he waited until the nice local footballers who were sitting at the bar were gone.

Felt really guilty about my very long hair with expensive hi-lites when a girl my age or slightly younger who's having chemo and has lost her hair came in. Last thing she needed to be looking at was my long hair. I tied it back after she arrived but I felt bad.

Then I spoke to a few people I felt sorry for and I possibly also gave them some sort of false hope that I might be interested in them. But if you don't talk to people they think you are stuck-up. I can deal with people so much better in my usual more professional setting.

@souk There's something else you could be doing out the country instead of walking- trying to fit in with the locals who may be slightly suspicious of the city girl :rotfl:

Picked up that exercise DVD this morning but I can't even contemplate using it now, my back is aching from standing all day and I'm exhausted.
