Hi all,
Hobbs have come back to me (quickly to be fair to them) but I've asked them to come on here and explain/answers specfics.
Thanks0 -
Oh id love to ask them....
Why are they hiding the stock which costs under £29, which has been proven by quite alot of people on this forum.
Why are they being deceitful and unethical and lying to customers faces, mine in fact 3 times so far...
And to finish, the 'out of stock' talk is nonesense, order more stock?
Its a business and you have done a promotion, are you that much of a incompetent company?
Plus your staff was telling us to buy lots more magazines to get our 'tops' so i think you should honour our vouchers cards and stop hiding your stock, because we all know you are0 -
Ok. I would like to ask how long they take to reply in writing to a complaint?
Why did they tell staff not to let anyone use a red card on tops £29 or less? ( bearing in mind that's what 2 of their staff members have told me)
Why say that the stock has been withdrawn for return when it is still on the website and as I was told still in the store stockrooms. If the duck top has been withdrawn for return why is it still on the website? Is it honest business practice to withdraw stock to prevent customers from buying - surely that is dishonest and trying to get round the cards terms and conditions?
Why do some stores say only one card per customer when that is not in the terms and conditions?0 -
No word from Hobbs yet then?
It appears they have a rather contemptuous attitude towards their customers.
It's quite some coincidence that after the "miscommunication" episode, with the stores refusing cards to be used on tops, suddenly overnight said tops disappear to the stock rooms. Another "miscommunication", perhaps?
When this promotion (because that's what it is was supposed to be) was decided, there is no question that Hobbs would have been aware just how many cards would end up in circulation. They must therefore have surely calculated how much it was going to cost etc.
No one in business could be so naive as to assume that everyone would wander into their stores and use the discount against purchases of hundreds of pounds. No matter how many people use multiple cards, this is something that should have been factored into the detail of the promotion before it was finalised.
Before this sordid little episode I had no real attitude towards Hobbs as a company at all. Then the promotion began and I thought maybe this is a store I can start using regularly, such nice helpful staff etc.
Then Hobbs started the underhand tactics, and now haven't even got the decency to come here with prompt responses.
Now I see the whole saga as grubby, and I never thought I'd be saying that Hobbs have got a lot to learn from Littlewoods/Very when it comes to customer relations.
This could have gone a similar way to the Debs £5 voucher promotion before Xmas, which left us all loving Debs and most of us shopping there a lot more often than we did before.0 -

And Jaeger - them honouring the £20 off voucher when we started using it on sales items was amazing - we had infringed the T&Cs by doing so (unlike Hobbs where we are adhering to the T&Cs) but they still honoured our orders.¿Alguien ha visto a mi nave espacial?
Biting is excellent. It's like kissing, only there's a winner.0 -
Do we know when Hobbs are coming onto the board?0

Hi MSE Archna
They don't seem to be overly keen to do as you requested as
there is no sign of them

I hope Hobbs will come online to answer our questions - I guess there is plenty of food for thought here and they will need to think things through before posting.
I'm sure they will consider it important that they do put things right though. Although there are small numbers actually posting here there are lots of viewers and this thread (and the promotion problems) are also being discussed on other major forums including Mumsnet and HotUKDeals.
All we need really is a clear communication about how they intend to honour the promotion, whether the full range of tops will be returning to the shop floors before May and whether their staff will be fully briefed on the situation to avoid further problems.
The new Red mag is out now, no further cards can be issued, so I would think the issue at hand is simply how best to honour the original deal and get a good PR outcome out of all this.0
