I emailed them and they said that it was because I ordered a sale item and therefore the code was not vaild...even tho the whole sale went through and it didnt higjhlight this at checkout etc. I unfortunetly did not save the email

I got an invoice through with the parcel stating '£4.99' (I didn't give my credit card details online)- I rang them up and they said that the code was only meant for existing customers - I explained about the email showing £0.00 but they were adamant that I either kept the item and pay or return it - I'll return it and their catalogue on Monday!

So do we not have any rights re them sending the email confirmation showing£0.00 etc ??

I can't be bothered with them - think I'll just return it anyway.

yea i had same sayin i cudnt have cred i rang and moand they sed 1 u cant use code on sale items and 2 u have use code over fone if u no u cant get catalouge and now i have mine here for free!!

nope i sed my mum gave me code and he sed was for new customers only!

Anyone actually receive the code through the post? You should ONLY be complaining to CS if you did and it didn't work. Mine worked but then again I am an existing customer and I got the code through the post. What happens is people post these codes on chat forums and every Tom, !!!!!! and Harry reckon they are entitled to it. They have to put their foot down at some point. Yes there is probably one or two of you that did get sent the code by proper means and it didn't work and i'm sure CS would be more than happy to fix it for you.

Can you try to type as if you are on the computer, not texting on your phone, its a nightmare to read.

I think it is quite funny that people are moaning about this. The codes were not meant for you, hence the reason you got charged. It was a risk you took and some of you seem to have lost. I dont see what Empire have done so wrong.
