On the other end of the scale I guess those natural burial sites could also stop you from using certain coffins on their land.
Looks like a lot of digging to do... excuse the punn
You also would want one that doesnt leak:eek:
I Know our local green burial ground will not accept crem film lining. Also handles of plastic or metal are a no no. but you do have to have a brass nameplate on coffin as a permanent marker0 -

Odd that you cannot have metal handles but you do need a metal name plate... both will corrode in time... double standards ?
No idea what crem is, will need to havea look at that...

Whilst looking I came across some very odd but beautifully designed coffins from Ghana. I cannot post a link but if you do a search for Ghana Coffins they've got some weird and wonderful ways of burying their loved ones... carved pineapples, bottled beer, shoes, planes.... odd but what a way to celebrate a life.... makes our traditional coffin look very dull.....0

The plot thickens...
I just read that costco are selling coffins. From what I can tell this is just in the US. I don't see anything on the uk web about this.
Has anyone got a costco near them, and have they seen coffins for sale ?
Aren't we normally a decade behind adopting what the US does... so my thinking is at least my kids will be able to get me one on the high street :-)0 -
How the knickers do people know what size they'll be when they kick the bucket?.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Dunno.
Can you imagine the conversation at the pearly gates. "well St Peter, you've got to let me in 'cos I've spent the last few years refusing cream cakes, just so I can still fit in me coffin.........."0 -

I thought that, then I thought, well I haven't changed in shape for the last ten years. I think it is fair to say that when we get to a certain point in our life we don't get much bigger (for the most of us)... in fact looking at my parents and remembering my grand parents (bless their souls) they all got smaller when they got old...
Maybe there should be a generic adjustable coffin....0 -

Blimey,
How do americans afford funerals... have you seen the caskets that they seem to use as standard... up to $20k....
I'm sure death insurance must be mandatory over there.0 -
