Police freeze my PC

  • Freeze my browser as well.
I used tasks manager to "kill" the process.

I can accept the servers are ultra busy and cannot respond - but quite why the result is a non responsing browser to anything other than task manager destroy command escapes me....

    Still not working
Someone should report it as a criminal waste of public money to "crimestoppers"

The home page loads (eventually), but then when I search for something, that browser window (and all the currently open tabs on that window) freezes!

As a programmer, if I ever uttered any of the following statements:
    • "It is not as if we could have expected so much traffic"
    • "The browser completely freezes when the traffic is high, and must be killed with Task Manager"
    • "People should use Firefox, Chrome or Opera instead"
I'd have my P45 so fast it would make your head spin.

In defence to the programmers, it could possibly be lack of budget. £300k sounds like a lot, but that's only 3 or 4 programmers along with all the equipment and then even that's only enough for one year.

When I do contracts for big clients, we're given unlimited budget because it has to work perfectly.

However when I do contracts for small clients, there's always a budget involved, and so you have to get the most important things working first and you tidy up whatever you have the money for at the end. As people have said, once the initial reaction dies down, it will probably work just fine.
