Bought a new small TV for the bedroom last year, just wish I had paid more attention as to whether or not it had an on/off switch.
That bright blue light when it is on standby nearly drove me mad - I have to switch it off at the plug every night, which is a pain if you are watching something in bed late.:mad:Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

Just put a small piece of black electricians insulating tape over it.0 -
I have one of those tv's- it's like a blue laser beam when you are trying to get to sleep! I ended up buying one of the remote switches from Asda - 3 for £5 as mentioned above (think they also sell them for that price in Morrisons). By using the remote to switch off at the mains, the blue light goes out without me having to get out of bed!Bought a new small TV for the bedroom last year, just wish I had paid more attention as to whether or not it had an on/off switch.

Only fiddly little issue is that my son likes to put headphones on sometimes and there doesn't appear to be anywhere to plug them in. Does anyone know if there is a gizmo that would get around this? (I am highly technophobic!)
Otherwise I suppose I'll have to fork out for wireless headphones.
is it not at the back where the areial goes in ..im sure thats where it is on my dads tv0 -
All those who bought this TV, have you not had any problems with the picture? With mine, the picture doesn't come on straight away (can hear the sound but the screen remains black for 2 or 3 minutes) and sometimes goes blank in the middle of the programme. Also even after setting the picture brightness/colour it changes to some weird colours the next time I go on that channel. If I take the TV back, will they replace it with a new one or do I just get my money back? Not sure if I want a new one if it is going to have the same problems.
phone up Tesco technical dept and tell them ..my dad bought one in october (full price) and developed a fault last week i phoned them up and they collected old one and replaced it no problem0 -

I didn't have that exact problem with mine, but I had lots of problems and the first two times, Tesco were happy to replace the TV like for like, no problems at all - I just called up the number on the guarantee and they gave me a reference number to take instore to authorise the replacement. When the third set developed a fault, I decided against a replacement as it seemed like the TV was false economy, so rang the number again and they authorised a refund.0 -
At the moment they are not giving replacements, since they have sold all the end of line stock and all the "b" stock (refurbished) units. Might be best to wait a few weeks, to allow the broken returned TV's to be fixed.phone up Tesco technical dept and tell them ..my dad bought one in october (full price) and developed a fault last week i phoned them up and they collected old one and replaced it no problem0
