    i have a confession.....
In Aldi i found a shampoo which i looked at and thought "that looks like the Nizoral packaging" so i picked one up for £2.49 for 100ml (i think). Sounds sad but when my excema breaks out it helps, and i've had a look online and it IS the same stuff but just under it's generic name. The trade marked stuff is over a tenner for the same size bottle. Now i know it is the same stuff i will be popping back to get a couple more bottles because we all know they're unlikely to get it back in again as it's one of their random special items. :)

I bought some of this for DS but not yet tried as just finishing off the last of the Nizoral, but as it was half the price and it seemed to be the same stuff as the Nizoral I thought it was worth a try. I dont class anything I buy for DS into my stash as I give it straight to him. He is a student so for the time being still buying his toiletries - he goes through showergel like its going out of fashion.:(
I don't think that's sad at all, that's a really useful piece of info. Do stock up, but Aldi will almost certainly have this in again next year. My daughter works for Aldi and regularly tells me what favourite things of mine are due back in.

I agree Aldi do always have the same stuff year in year out, just keep a note of when you bought as chances are it will be back again the same time next year.

I bought one of the Tresemme Conditioners 900ml size last week as I had run out of conditioner. Never tried it before, I normally use Charles Worthington but this works out much cheaper and its pretty good. I always need quite alot of conditioner so I don't feel too guilty. When I run out of shampoo in the next few weeks I will be trying their shampoos too. Just noticed that you can't unscrew the lid though, wanted to put a pump on it and can't.

I have a Tresemme shampoo that has been spluttering for a couple of weeks, not happy with the design of their bottle (but find the product ok) as hard to get the last bits out as the top is so small and the bottle so big and it just overbalances when you try to stand it on its end, not happy you cant unscrew the top. Not sure I would buy again for this reason, though I do still have another set standing by to use up.

I IN yesterday:o, Tesco sensitive toothpaste 32p, I bought this last year when it was really cheap and then they put the price up, I thought it was ok so just bought one in case they put back up again. Dont have that much of a toothpaste stash so felt I could add one more.

Quite a few UU this month, did my roots tonight so finished the last 1/3rd of a Nice N' Easy hair colour (on of my HG items), much cheaper to do this than to buy the specific root colours. Finished off a foot cream, nothing to write home about and WNBA, finished a body lotion inherited from DD, a boots one which they dont do any more. Finished off a hair shine spray, have loads of different shine sprays in my stash, WBA if I could get it for the price I paid (I think about 5p in a Boots glitch) when all the others are gone. Finished a Sanex shower gel, ok and probably WBA if I could get for the same price, but as I must have at least 20 other showergels waiting in the wings think it will be a while. Used up a couple of trial sachets of VO5 shampoo, was ok, but I still have loads of shampoo/conditioner left. Finished off a clinique trial mascara, but I still have 18 more trial mascaras left  Also a couple of throwaways a solid perfume from Yves Rocher which must be at least 10 years old didnt smell off but decided I probably would have used by now if I liked so threw it. Also threw a bottle of eyelash dye that had seen better days and a lip gloss that was too sticky. I dyed my eyebrows, thought I would try a face mask and it had definitely seen better days so binned. Tried a night face cream from Martha Hill and decided its much too heavy for my skin, face still looks shiney hours later, so have decided to relegate to hand or feet use just to finish it off. A few splutters that seem to be going on for ever, hopefully will be UU soon.

Started to take some piccies of the stash today but decided far too much, would take up its own thread:eek: I seem to keep finding more stuff I think it is breeding. I have 5 shelves in one double wardrobe, the bottoms in two others all stored in boxes and overflowing, a drawer full in my chest of drawers, under my bath 2 baskets worth, a trolley with 3 baskets full it seems endless and cant even contemplate trying to list. Considering I have been doing this challenge for over a year, it seems worse now than ever though I know it is slowly going down. I took about 8 pictures and have decided to keep them as a reminder of how bad it is/was and as a deterrent next time I want to buy something.

PS - Also have a Boots £5 voucher burning a hole in my pocket, a friend gave it to me, she always gives them to me, just hoping for a glitch somewhere so little of no spend needed!

I count INs as any items in, but only count actual cost.

On the flip side, I feel bad that my daughter has so many products on the go and feel as if I have infected her! She says she keeps things that she knows she'll probably never use, "Just in case", because it cost money, because it was a gift, or because it looks pretty.

We're swapping bedrooms in the summer hols so she's on a bit of a mission to finish things up before then. I fear it will be me who has to be ruthless with her stash though....

I told her all about Pink Rose Candle Philosophy too, because she is a terror for using a black eye liner she doesn't really like everyday and "saving" the one she loves.

P.S. LemonTree Thanks for the generic Nizoral tip my lovely! :T I have already passed that info on to at least four people I know will be jolly excited about it!

P.P.S. Day 37. No spends so far. :j

I know where you're daughter's coming from - these are pretty much the same reasons I find it hard to get rid of things - I think I need to sort this out!!

Good move telling her about the pink rose candle philosophy - we really shouldn't deprive ourselves from using our own stuff - it just doesn't make sense

I've been building up the points on MySurvey, so that I can get Amazon, Boots or M&S Vouchers to get some non -cash toiletries. The chief wish is for body butter as I have just the one butter my friend gave me, plus a Next cream that calls itself a butter but isn't.

I am very taken with the description of Scottish Fine Soaps Get Flirty Double Whipped Body Butter. The scent is vanilla and cinnamon, sounds an absolute winner, bit like sniffing Chai sweetened with vanilla sugar....

Also it's a Scottish company, so it's supporting a home country, rather than a multinational like Avon.

I had a few use-ups over the weekend, hurrah!
    • Lush bath bomb - Mr Frosty, that was over a year old, oops! Lovely though in the bath last night :)
    • 2 Urban Decay liquid eyeliners - finally gave up on these, as they were pretty old, and it was just too hard to get anything out. WIBA? Yes! Loved them, great for a simple look for a night out (I had green and purple). But I've got so much other eye makeup that I can't buy these yet - I'm sure my hge assortment of dazzle dusts, eyeshadows, and a lovely Shu Umera eye set will keep me going for a while :D
There are possibly a splutterers as well, so hopefully some more UUs soon - I'm going to track properly again from now on :A

    .

Maddening isn't it? And the conditioner's so thick it's even worse. Squeeze in the bottle to get some air out and hold it under the tap/shower as you release the squeeze to get some water in the bottle. Shake it up and hey presto, you can use up all the dregs ;)(like you really wanted to :rotfl:)

Ditto. Whenever that's included in the gift with purchase I always turn it down - it's really hyped in the beauty editorial world but I find that make up can flake with it too. I once saw a fab make up artist called John Gustafavson (spelling?) and he thought Flash Balm was overrated too.

I actually really like Flash Balm - though I only use it when I have a hangover/not enough sleep :p I find it works quite well if I have to look presentable for work, under normal liquid foundation, and at the weekends a quick swipe without makeup generally makes me feel presentable enough to leave the house. It does seem to brighten me up a bit.
UU - Body Shop Coconut Body Butter. WIBA? Yes, but only if it was on offer - it smelt lovely (Body Shop non-fruit stuff always smells properly of what it is and strongly enough to get whiffs of it throughout the day but not so much that it's overpowering) and was very moisturising and sinks in really well, but I think £12 is a bit pricey so would wait until it was on a deal.

I was using a mango one a couple of months ago, and a male housemate used to get very excited any time I went near him after putting it on - he loved the smell. Quite subtle, but just strong enough to get a lovely 'waft' every now and again.
    Updated list!
--Gave up on make up bits that don't suit me. Goodbye MUA bronzers, Max Factor powder foundation, Tesco 3 in 1 powder foundation (every time I use this I get spots). Clunk into the bin.

Yay, good riddance to the MUA bronzers by the sounds of it! You did the right thing :T

Welcome to all the newbies - so many converts, and lots of lovely stashes!

Rosemary, glad you're starting to feel better, hope the hubby isn't too ill, it sounds horrible :(

One more UU that I forgot about, but no idea how:
Elasticizer! 150ml tub WIBA? I've already bought a litre tub, knowing this was about to run out :D I've washed out the small tub, and will decant from the large litre bottle into it, as it's just easier to have the smaller tub sitting out.
  • If you hear the sound of cries - it's me. It's official the Collection 2000 Powder Mineral foundation has been discontinued. Sniff. Can't believe it. It's my HG. I am devastated!!!!

Have you tried the cheap online make up sites - sometimes they stock collection 2000? as its discontinued i'm sure you will be allowed to build up a (little!!) stockpile of it!

Thanks again for everything, I am due to find out today but not feeling particularly hopeful, plus if the HR lady calls me up to let me know, she will be met with some gruff voice as mine has lovingly disappeared again :(

One UU today, a JF Blonde shampoo thats been lurking in the bathroom for a while WIBA Well I'm brunette and find that it washes my hair fine, and fancied a change from my tigi, just because I am bored in general and not just from shampoo IYKWIM.

And I have a freebie (kind of). I ordered a 2l bottle of TIGI conditioner from TJ Hughes weeks ago when they had an offer on but for some reason it took over 2 weeks to arrive. When I opened the package they had sent me a 250ml bottle instead  so after emailing them, they have said they will refund my card and I can keep this conditioner as a sign of goodwill, so I guess the IN i predicted in January isn't quite as bad as I thought, freebie!

I'm very exhausted at the moment so haven't had any time to pamper, and I'm back at work with wet hair (bad i know, especially as I have a bad cold!), no make up on or moisturiser. Just have no motivation but I know I need to get back into it. I think it was rosemary that was also ill so I hope you feel better too, and anyone else that I might have missed on my trawl through the thread!!

I sold 3 perfumes on ebay and when I checked my messages one has emailed me and told me that they had bidded on the wrong item  so i now have to do a second offer which is annoying as the person who lost might have already bought something in replacement. I have however, made £30 from the 2 I have sold - and one of them sold for c.£7.50 (Urban Retreat) when I only bought it for £5  very happy with that!!

I need to get around to listing more items, but will try and do them little and often, especially as I have less than a month at work (i will prob end up listing them at work as my interest here wanes - not the right attitude I know, but I'm sure its a common one!)

Hope you all have a lovely day ladies, and don't get blown away by the gusts  :rotfl:

Not boring LT :) Many people suffer sensitive scalps and stuff and will find this info useful. My OH is very lucky in that the GP prescribes this and we have a pre payment certificate for prescriptions.
Good on you to spot this :A
I use capasol shampoo on perscription using a prepaid one, think you can buy it but probably expensive,I find it works well as I get psoriasis on my scalp as well as body.I use a normal conditioner afterwards and that seems fine
