:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Blimey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh its so reassuring to know I'm not the worst hoarder here
I love mascara, easily my favourite cosmetic, but I was surprised how many there were - they range from Chanel to Primark, all (except for the current one) unopened :rotfl: In my defense, I did get some of them as presents :rotfl:;)
I might count my nail varnishes next :rotfl:0 -

looks like I ate some dodgy food(can't say too much till the tests come back) but have been soooooooo ill:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
S&D is putting it mildly the doc thinks it is campylobacter a very nasty bug found in chicken(apparently 2/3rds os supermarket chicken has it in the UK.They do not have it in New Zealand as thye use chlorinated water in the abbatoirs(we of course are banned form using it byt the EEC!!!!!despite it being safe)
I don't think i have ever felt so ill in my life before and frightened at 3 a.m when I was passing what looked like bloody water...this lasted till 11pm the next day.Fed up as missed a lunch i had paid for and DH missed his christmas dinner from work as he was looking after me.He now feels a bit off and the doc says he could get it up to a week after me
The doc just called and said they will get the results in monday and I will get a call from the public health if it is posative(some compensation would be good:rotfl:)
gtgn as feel grotty
have a good weekend
aw no - that sounds awful (((((((hugs)))))) really hope your DH doesnt come down with it nowXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Yes, seems sensible Kaz - no point in using a product where the scent has negative associations, is there!
Sarah sorry to hear you're still having sleeping problems, I suffer from Restless Leg Syndrome too - it's horrible isn't it! I've had it for years - was amazed to find a few years ago that it is now a recognised complaint!
Hope things are going well for Roshy with her assessment / induction day thing today - I think we've all got our fingers crossed for her haven't we so if the power of positive thinking has any effect she should be home and dry!
Sophy - 32  mascaras?! Wow! You'll be the only person in the country sticking to the 3 month rule from now on then I assume?!!
My Olay Total Effects Serum is REALLY spluttering now - I had a good old fiddle about with it this morning to get the remaining serum in nthe right place to get it up through the pump thing, but after that I think it will be down to getting the last dregs off the bottom of the pump, then on to the next one.
Another one here avoiding Boots because of the risk of being tempted down the unnecessary spends line- I don't NEED to go in there for anything, so why do I WANT to so much?! :rotfl:

I think I may have figured out the issue with S&G for me. It's the geranium scent. I used to work with a heinous person. She was vindictive, shallow and a bit of a sniper. A loose cannon who couldn't and wouldn't be taught anything.
She used to wear something that smelled like S&G (I know it wouldn't be actual S&G because she was homeopathic and oils etc and didn't use boots type products (I'm not knocking this btw, just trying very badly to get my point across). When I first started working closely with her, I commented on the smell. I didn't realise it was her perfume, I thought it was her tea. "Ooh, that smells lovely" said I "Oh it's geranium" said she "Oh, I never knew you could drink geraniums" said I
"No, Kaz, it's my perfume!" :rotfl:.
Now my main issue with this scent is that it evokes memories of this girl. She was actually a nice girl, a very nice girl but then with no warning or reason, she would turn round and spew bile and stab people in the back.
So, I think I shall steer clear of S&G!
I believe scents are very evocative of our memories - both good and bad. Sometimes I'll smell a product and be reminded of...a holiday for example.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
One UU to report. Neal's Yard Frakinsense Moisturiser. WIBA? No, I didn't really like the smell and it sometimes made my skin feel greasy. Another £1 in the pot!
Lovely stash pics from those who posted them. My stuff is all in toiletries bags in the drawer under my bed, so not a pretty sight.

Oh Rosemary, I do feel for you. 17 years ago I got a horrific bug, no sickness, but violently ill at the other end. It lasted a fortnight. I knew exactly what it was but was too ill to chase it up. On the hottest day of the year I'd had Pavlova with squirty cream at what is now a gastropub. My bf did too and boy, were we unwell. They'd clearly left the can out of the fridge and bugs had bred mightily. I avoided squirty cream for years after that.
Sign that this thread has had an impact on my life; Roshy's assessment day was one of the first things I thought of this morning.
If any of you are in need - emphasise need - of very low-cost, good quality products, Aldi has some good Sunday specials this week.

I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Oh gawd rosemary, I've nursed some people with campilobacter. It's a nasty, nasty bug. How are you rehydrating yourself? Salt and vinegar crisps are good for rehydrating. They ease the nausea by replenishing your electrolyte imbalance caused by dehydration.
EH(I think?) Amen to the restless legs! It's dreadful. DH thought he was having a heart attack the other night because I jerked (again) and woke him with a start.

Rosemary so sorry to hear you've been so poorly, glad you're on the mend now though, sounds like it could have been even worse, thank goodness it wasn't, and here's hoping that your OH doesn't come down with it too.

Kaz Our sense of smell is a very powerful thing huh? I got "throwing up drunk" on cider once about 25 years ago - and my aversion to the smell of cider is still as strong as ever.
Rosemary Get well soon lovely. You poor thing!Sending you lots of love. :happyhear

Rosemary - adding my thoughts to the others on here.
Have you thought about being vegetarian (although someone on here said they got ill from squirty - unfortunate time to use that word - cream....) :rotfl: sorry, I am not belittling the illness, but I do have a warped sense of humour...and hopefully when you are feeling better you will look back on this thread with some humour....and warmth from all the hugs we are sending you.:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
I've been veggie since I was 14 - yes I do take lots of vitamins to keep up my B12 and Iron - and yes, I have loads from 3 for 2 offers - they are in my bathroom stash!
Didn't trust myself to leave my desk at lunchtime today.....:embarasse after reading about the boots £5 skincare vouchers :drool:Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0
