    Yep - still awake :(

Have tried all the usual - hot milk, warm bath, dark quiet room, s*x ;) nothing works. My mum - bless her - is sending me some smelly lavender heat pads that you put on your bedside table and thats supposed to help.

It's the pain more than anything - can't get comfortable and get chest pain and restless legs when I lie down

The dog's restless as well tonight so we've been entertaining each other :D:D

Have you tried those meditation to sleep CDs? I got a DVD free with the Daily Mail a few years ago and have found it really good. You can also listen to some free ones from their website (although I'm not that keen on this particular one because I prefer the male voice to make me sleep):

    http://www.meditainment.com/free-guided-meditation/the-secret-garden/enter/

Failing that, I could send you over a couple of my cats to keep you company because they are often up during the night pushing the biscuit tin around the floor trying to break into it (they are on diets!)

I went through quite a few months of using the sleep DVD. After a while, when i put it on the cats knew it was sleep time and all went to bed - hilarious! But it does condition your mind to go to sleep faster I found, after regular use.

Finally UU a bottle of Next perfume - loved it but it went on for about 3 years! Don't like their lotions though. Now going to start getting through my perfume samples/minis...:T
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!

There's a particularly evil-smelling BS satsuma body polish sitting prominently on my bathroom window ledge. (Can you tell I'm not so keen on"fruity"?!) There's about a quarter left, which I will use on my hands and decolette, although the scrubby bits are fairly thinly dispersed so it doesn't seem very effective. Aim to use it up over the weekend.

I hate BS fruit stuff too, yuk!!!

    Good point hon.

I think it depends on what your goals are, and on your main focus whether you might feel you ought to count them or not.

If it's purely about the money for you then free stuff is a nonspend and I could see why you wouldn't count that.

But if for you, it's more about having too much stuff , then more stuff counts against that aim, even if it's free stuff.

This year I want to use the money I usually spend on toiletries and cosmetics on slightly more worthwhile pursuits. I didn't count my late Christmas presents as a fail because they will help me reach my goal of spending as little as possible on toiletries and cosmetics this year.

My secondary aim is to buy the products I know and love either when I need them, or when they are bargainous, so if I got any freebies of my holy grail products that would be a bonus too and help me achieve my goals.

It all depends on why you're doing this basically.

Sorry for banging on my lovelies - I hope I made sense!

I agree. But I can never resist a freebie, especially if it's a posh brand that I couldn't justify buying myself :rotfl:

My aim is to declutter AND save money so I guess freebies are allowed (for me).

Have a good day all xoxoxoxo

  • Have just been into Boots. Stood there inhaling various Sanctuary lotions and scrubs. It's my HG range. Thought to myself, when I've used everything up I can treat myself to loads of the stuff. Fortunately, I have a few Sanctuary bits and pieces to keep me going. Thank goodness for this challenge otherwise I would now have yet more stuff.

I read somewhere that there are supposed to be Sanctuary skincare vouchers in the gift sets from Christmas- I haven't checked the ones in my stash -must do that tonight.

There is also another post about Sanctuary but don't get excited until you get to the end of it as it's not what it first seems! ;)

Juliebunny, I have to ask, Poundland I know and love, but what is 'Chavside' in your sig.? Limit on trips to £1land & Chavside - once every month: Is it a low-budget shopping centre near you?

Does anyone else use Silkymitt type hair removers? I rediscovered my yellow foam one that had been MIA for a few [STRIKE]years[/STRIKE] months under the bed and was happily sandpapering away at my lower legs this morning. It was as good as new after a thorough wash.

  • Two u/u's: Hoorah. Revlon Colorstay x 2. Bought the first one - too pale. So bought a darker one to blend. Both finished now. WIBA - yes, cheap alternative to EL Doublewear.

I'm going to go with the Pink Candle philosophy too. When I have finished my vile Philosophy chocolatey shower gel, I have a lovely Arran Aromatics birthday one I was putting to the back of the queue. I shall look it out next. Likewise, soap. Roger & Gallet collection I found in a charity shop and was keeping "for best". Once I have finished my current bar of boring stuff, I'll be smelling like a flower shop. Using Avon Perfectwear cheapie foundation, but will relegate it to weekend wear and crack open my EL Doublewear. It's such a great idea to use up your best stuff first, then be really strict and use up the carp before buying any more "good" stuff.

    .

Ha sorry, didn't want to give them any unncessary publicity, it's Lakeside Shopping 'Mall', in Essex. A big shopping inside area and then loads of retail park stuff around the outside.
Perhaps you have heard the joke.....'what is an Essex girls favourite wine?'.............'I want to go to Lakeside....'!!:rotfl:

Thanks. D'oh, of course I'd heard of it, but never seen it, so didn't realise it was so downmarket... love the joke. It's a lot cleaner than most Essex girl jokes I know.

@ Pudsey. I got an avon perfume roller ball thingy for Christmas. It's gone straight into the charity bag. Hateful thing (not that I'm ungrateful you understand ;))!

I've got a Far Away rollette that I like - its handy for leaving in my bag when I'm going out, so I ordered the Aromadisiac one as I've fallen in love with that scent at the moment. If it works like the far Away one it'll be fine :D and it was cheap!!! :p

There's some gorgeous perfumes, but they just smell rank on me for some reason. My eldest has nicked one that I love....on her!!!! I forget what its called but its heavenly, but it doesnt smell the same on me :(
