Right....I have a confession to make. I've checked my stash - not tooooo bad I thought - only 11 boxes to go through. Then I went and checked the garageUmmmmm.....I forgot about the Tesco H&B and DTD stashes and there's enough to start a small shop. Gulp. Enough shampoo for at least ten years and untold piles of conditioner, shower gel, bubble bath, deos, talc, wipes, etc, etc.....I may be some time.

But if somebody already owns 600+ products (me included here) shouldn't freebies and samples count as ins because this is about clutter as much as money? I'm not suggesting people don't avail of freebies and samples, just that they should be counted:cool:Total debt 11/1/2011 €5350.65Total debt 12/12/12 €3222.31CrazyClothesChallenge 2013 #006 €34.08/€5000

So what's the plan then my lovely?
What will you realistically use up before it goes off?
What should you sell before it goes off?
What could you give as presents for any birthdays you've got coming up?
What could you give away or donate etc
Are any of your friends and family in a similar situation so you could do some swaps? (If you've got far too much of one type of product but not nearly enough of another type of product.)
It totally breaks my heart if something I've been saving goes off before it gets used up (It's that Pink Rose Candle Philosophy all over again isn't it?)
Sorry for all the questions hon, just trying to be motivational!:D

Morning everyone! A Few IN's to report:
Nivea Deo - Just can't seem to get on with the Sure roll on I have at the mo. Deo's seem to work for a while and then stop working for me so I have to switch brands quite often. To be fair, the Sure is almost out anyway!
Neutrogena Fast absorbing hand cream - I wash my hands countless times a day and my skin needs cream! Finished my S&G hand food last week and only just getting round to replacing it now
Found some Philip Kingsley mini's that I had lying around the house. Will take them with me to Le Fiance's this weekend and use them up! Or leave them there till next time!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

Good point hon.
I think it depends on what your goals are, and on your main focus whether you might feel you ought to count them or not.
If it's purely about the money for you then free stuff is a nonspend and I could see why you wouldn't count that.
But if for you, it's more about having too much stuff , then more stuff counts against that aim, even if it's free stuff.
This year I want to use the money I usually spend on toiletries and cosmetics on slightly more worthwhile pursuits. I didn't count my late Christmas presents as a fail because they will help me reach my goal of spending as little as possible on toiletries and cosmetics this year.
My secondary aim is to buy the products I know and love either when I need them, or when they are bargainous, so if I got any freebies of my holy grail products that would be a bonus too and help me achieve my goals.
It all depends on why you're doing this basically.
Sorry for banging on my lovelies - I hope I made sense! :eek:Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0 -
First UU of the month for me - Cath Kidston Bluebell Hand Cream
WIBA? Maybe, it was quite moisturising and smelt nice but didn't sink in very quickly and was a bit on the watery side for my tastes.

*Confession* I bid and purchased a mini Gok set last night. I talked myself out of the big ones as they were going for mega money, however I decided on a mini one. But I did give my Avon book back with no order
I am going to try and make my own sugar scrub over the weekend. I miss the lush's sugar babe, but can't get to town and flake away is doing nothing for me at all. So needs must and I am going to make my own0 -

Questions absolutely fine! I love that PRCP and intend to live by it this year. As well as clearing all the clutter out of my life.
The plan is this. I'm keeping the best stuff for me - the Clarins, Lancome etc and basic essentials for say 1 year. Everything else has to go. Good stuff will be put into my remaining Argos glitch baskets to be given away as presents. I'll get busy at car boots and also do a list of stuff for sale and give it to some friends in lcoal offices with a free delivery offerNo real swapping opportunities as few of my friends are into savvy shopping etc despite my best efforts. They all think I'm some sort of Arfur Daley.
The money will go into an account for future spends and the idea will be to be "spend neutral" i.e. everything I buy will have no real cost as it will be funded by things sold.
As I have so much, a donation to a local shelter would probably be good too - I'm a firm believer in good karma and what goes round......0 -

Yay! I am loving that plan hon! :T:j:beer:
P.S. My friends didn't used to be at all MSE either, but sometimes things change! I was good at negotiating discounts with salesmen on big purchases and wheedling freebies out of Cosmetics Counter Dragon Ladies - but otherwise I was rubbish until a couple of years ago. And if I can learn...!Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0
