Wow - I thought I loved shower gel! Would like to know the size of bottles - hope they are not all litre size ones:eek: :D. I added up all the mls of shower that I had unopened once - sad I know:o - but helped me not to buy anymore and now if I do feel tempted I only buy 75 - 100mls bottles (travel sizes). But I am doing well and resisting so far even though L'occitane are launching a new Plum Blossom range soon -which I know I will love:(

Not sure of the exact sizes but most of the Senses ones are the large sizes they do, I think 500mls :o

    That L'occitane one sounds nice,.

A UU to report. The L'Occitane Verbena Liquid Soap is now finished. In the end I put the last drops into my bath tonight cos there was too little to go up the pump and too much to tip out into my hands to wash. Have now refilled the bottle with an eco pack of the same fragrance.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Lynsey - I'm in shock reading that list!:eek:

    Mmmmm.............I've been a bit naughty!! :o

Remember me asking about roll ons as my son complained about me gassing the bathroom? Well I bought the unscented Mitchum spray - and there's been no complaints since!!! :D At £1.80 its not a bad price either. Looked at the roll ons but tbh I get dressed too quickly most mornings for it to dry.

And I was very naughty with the Avon.........ordered set of four Skin so soft prodiucts: body lotion, dry oil spray, body wash and handcream for £5.00. I know I've still got plenty to use, but.....I'm a sucker for a bargain!! :p

    ooooh and........

I also received today 3 tubes of Avon SOS hancream that I bought off ebay because I think its been discontinued. I love this stuff so cant understand why they've stopped selling it!

This is the Dry Skin SOS, yes? I can't understand it being discontinued either - it's my HG intensive hand cream! Please tell me you didn't pay more than about £1.50 per tube for it though as it will be coming through clearance in a few campaigns time....

I agree that the four SSS items for £5 is a good deal too - there are some excellent ones coming up over the next few campaigns...

Out of all the facial skincare I have, I've used the Milk & Honey one before and I liked it so when they brought it back I bought some more so hoping that I still like it when I come round to using it. I'm currently using the Solutions Self-Foaming cleanser at the moment and I guess it is an ok cleanser. The getting used to putting a foam on your face took a bit of getting used to though. I seem to find despite having combination skin the creamy type cleansers feel and make my skin look better.

If you wanted to try it, and don't have a huge stash of other cleansers, I think most of them for the price arn't too much to fork out on but, as well, if it doesn't agree with your skin or you don't like it you should be able to return it to your rep for a replacement or your money back. It's been a while since I was a rep but I occasionally used to get people returning things.

To clarify for anyone who doesn't know/realise. Avon's no-quibble 90 day return policy applies even if you just don't like the product.

As for the Avon Skincare stuff, I've not tried the cleansers yet, but some of the Anew moisturisers etc are lovely. The night cream I'm using at the moment that I have been so impressed with it an Anew one.

885 products???? Hubby would kill me.....

Just been reading about Foxy-Lady over on the grabbit board (Boots offers), she took some bits back to B**ts without a receipt, had the money put on a giftcard then got arrested for return fraud.... (she is accused of stealing the goods then taking them back!) its shocking, peeps could lose their jobs for stuff like this hanging over their heads....

    I really feel for her.....

Wow - scary stuff. I was so conscious of this when I tok my stuff back - I had it wraped in two carrier bags inside the bag I was carrying it in, and made sure that I went straight to the photo desk to make my request, no wandering round the store first.

By the way - congratulations on Princess's arrival SJP - glad she turned up safe and well and all went smoothly.

Happy Birthday Trudij - meant to post yesterday and got distracted! :o

One UU to report from this morning - a mini Avon Anew Clinical Thermafirm cream - WIBA? ummm...in spite of my comments above, no, I wouldn't. I really liked this the first time I tried it, but this one seemed to develop a habit of going slightly patchy, and sort of "peeling off" in small pieces when I tried to rub in foundation over the top. I shall probably go on with my Clinique Dramatically different which is part used and I know I love.

Which one are you using EH? Don't need a night cream just yet but nice to bear these things in mind. Fortunately face creams are the one things I don't stock up on :A

  • Oh, and in answer to the question about where people store their stuff....

My stash mostly hides in the full-to-bursting-point bathroom cupboard (you remember the cupboard - it's the place I fantastise about being able to keep some spare loo-rolls!). I also have some items in my S&G tote bag storage box, which is in the bedroom. I pretty much only have products out that I am actually using, so the edge of the bath has shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioning treatment, Body scrub, bubble bath & shower gel, and the window sill behind the sink has face scrub, face wash, 2 x face masks, body butter and hair serums. Likewise, only the stuff I've actually got in use is out in the bedroom. In addition I have a plastic storage basket in the cupboard at the top of my wardrobe which has my travel size odds and ends in it - some quite nice bits there, actually!

It's the Anew Reversalist Sterling Night Emulsion - its blurb promises just the kind of rubbish I am usually very cynical about - "5 years younger in 14 days" etc, but I have to confess that it looks, and feels as though it might actually be delivering to a large extent! :o Technically speaking I ought to be using the next age group down - the rejuvenate, but I intend to completely confuse my face by going on to some stuff from that range next! :rotfl:

Without wishing to tempt people by the way - in a couple of campaigns time there are some good deals coming up on "starter packs" of the Anew range - they will be sold at £10 and will contain a 50ml cleanser/wash, a 15ml day cream, a 15ml night cream, and a full size eye cream, and they will also come with a £10 voucher to use off a full size regime set. There will be one set available for each of the four Anew regime ranges. The starter packs would be an excellent chance for anyone who wants to try the range without breaking the bank - the eye creams alone usually sell for £11 - £21 depending on which age group they are! :D

I wouldn't have thought of looking at creams in the next age bracket.

Sorry to ask a stupid question but what is the difference between that and the night cream?

Great idea about the starter packs.

  • :) No ins today. No use ups yet. I need to give away to an in law - the Palmers Cocoa butter (I have several unused in stash) - as sadly that's changed since I last used it. Now very chemically.

:A I'm amazed by how many of us are being critical of pricing - love a product but won't buy due to its RRP. It just shows we have tough standards here!

:) On the age thing with skin - I don't take any notice of that stuff. I love Clarins and have used ranges in all 'ages'. I think you can never start too young to look after your skin no matter what the product is labelled. I'm very thorough now about my neck and decollege (ah spelling) - as I want to minimise having a wrinkly chest!

:) on the storage thing I need to have another sort out. But generally my stash sits in the.....S&G tote box/bag thing. As the stash gets smaller I hope to get a smaller box/bag for the stuff. *Less things*less stuff*more life :)

For those of us with excess shower gel - find out if your local homeless shelter will accept them. Our local hospital does too. As with the best will in the world it'll be hard going to use up loads of the stuff. :A
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.
