just been to the hairdressers where i have a dry trim followed by a Wella Alchemy massage treatment.today the treatment was free as had 5 already on a loyalty scheme:)I had a diferent woman and she commented on my psoriasis on my scalp whcih I thought was not too bad at the mo(it has covered the scalp and been horrible) she said I can get rid of the patches using Wella clear scalp shampoo, which she said had worked so I said I would buy one.Nearldied when I saw the price £12 for 250mls:eek::eek::eek::eek:never paid so much for a shampoo, usually use capasol which I get on a prepaid pescription, will have to hide from DH and DS2.she did say you only need a little so hopefully it will last a while.
Off to flower club this afternoon so another sit down and rest:)
  • I've always been a bit suspicious of gift sets - I consider them a rip-off, generally.

I agree wholeheartedly! When you work out the price per ml, you end up paying a lot for pretty packaging! Last year the ex-flatmate asked what I wanted for Xmas and I directed him to a 3 for 2 offer on Sanctuary stuff - full size, no gift sets! Much better value.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

rosemary, i have to admit that i don't find Capasal has helped when my skin has broken out but i was recomended the Nizoral stuff which did help but was very expensive for a small bottle. But they can prescribe it to you. and i did find the generic Nizoral stuff in Aldi a couple of weeks ago.

What does Nizoral smell like? I use Polytar (on hairdresser's recommendation) if my head gets sore, but gawd that stuff reeks!!!!!

Incidentally are Nizoral and Nizorelle 2 totally different brands?

Had some compliments on my hair and 'complexion' today! Yay! And these were all from MEN (I work in a male mostly shop). Bless 'em! Not sure if it's the cut and colour I had last week, the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, the Umberto Gianni overnight treatment or the new foundation and pressed powder :rotfl:Actually it could be that I bothered to blow dry my hair this morning!

Good luck for the move to London Absinthe Fairy!

And Mingle...a stanley knife  Mind you, saying that I once stabbed myself in the hand with a screwdriver doing something similar

Just been to return my ponds cold cream stuff in B**ts, I originally paid £3.99 for it but can't find the receipt so got £4.07 exchange value;), so I got a Botanics Sugar scrub, huge 450ml pot and had to pay £1.80 difference.

Went to S/D next, had a £5 voucher so used it for Cranberry & Pomegranate body polish, coconut and shea butter body polish, OS shea butter and honey shower creme and OS Mint and tea tree shower gel. Spend £0.76. Total spend £2.56 not bad IMO.

By the way S/D are doing 3 for 2 on all skincare (any mix and match) and some OS shower gels for 89p, not that anyone will care.:D

I've just bought some on ASOS.

Thanks for that. I know I can get it online. Find it a pain though cos my packages always end up at the Post Office and I can't be doing with the hassle of going to collect them at the weekend. Have some Tresomme for the time being.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Thanks ladies! Is it OK if I adopt you as mother's? When my mom heard what I did she was FURIOUS.

"I'd NEVER let you have a stanley knife, why have you got a stanley knife! OH MY GODDDDD!!! YOU CAN'T BE LET OUT ALONNNNEE!!!"

Your shock is so maternal ( i hope no-one is offended by this!)

I shall invest in a pair of scissors. Thanks :D

I've always been a bit suspicious of gift sets - I consider them a rip-off, generally. I give my daughter full sizes of all her toiletry gifts and always put them in a re-usable bag. Not a paper gift bag or a plastic bag but usually a jute or cotton shopper. I posted about this on another thread around Christmas time and it seemed to go down well.
Of course, I am a bit of a bag hound, not handbags, but nice shoppers. My son keeps putting them in the outhouse where I can't get to them easily. Thus I have to buy more.
Fairtrade Fortnight is coming up at the end of the month and Tesco do a very nice Fairtrade cotton shopper with soft padded handles. They also did a lovely Orla Kiely bag in autumny colours around Christmas. Wasn't Fairtrade though.

Yes, but do you reallllly need another shopping bag? I also stash these. The last one IN was the big S&G tote shopper. I use them when I go to our local summer car boot. I have to stop buying them now because I a) have loads b) never remember to take them out anyway and b) can't top the S&G one, it's huge!
    Hope everyone's doing well!

Have a few ins to report - went to Superdrug to pick up two Simple moisturiser minis (which I DID need, one for my travel bag and one to leave at home when I move) and also got a half-price Nivea travel set, only a couple of quid and it included lip balm, Nivea Creme, face wipes and deodorant (all minis which I will use!)

Also, one of my friends got me a 'survival kit' for moving to London, including ibuprofen and plasters (she knows me so well!) as well as a Montagne Junesse (sp?) face mask and some foot scrub & moisturiser sachets!

I'm going down this afternoon with a packed suitcase including several toiletries of course!

Oh good luck for your move to the big smoke - you will notice the difference in how dirty your skin gets, esp on the underground, blah. Good excuse for loads of nice cleansers...I am gradually moving in the other direction (out of London) but still have to work there to pay the big M.

Just a quick question- when you cut something open, what do you use? I use a stanley knife, but I stabbed myself in the leg (my word, IT HURT!) nothing major, no arteries severed, but still if I can avoid it :)

LOL, didn't know if this was a joke!! I never thought to cut things open until I read it on here - I hate to mess up that pretty packaging :rotfl:

Am pondering a trip to B**ts to try and use up some vouchers but I honestly don't need anything - even if they gave me a trolley load for free, I still wouldn't get round to using it before next year and I'm trying to keep up with the de-cluttering gals too!!

Should I just get stuff because it's on ofrer or try and be less consumerist/more 'green' and just chuck the vouchers......sigh.....I mean, these offers are how I got my stash in the first place....I guess I've just given myself the answer.....hmm....well, got a few more days to decide....:rotfl:

PS - I've recently found the thread for daily newspaper deals - free voucher for footcream at L'occitaine today and code to get soap online for £1.99 - know some people on here like this stuff. Someone has kindly posted the code on the voucher thread anyway - am I allowed to post it here?
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Seriously the knife seems REALLY DANGEROUS. It could easily slip on the plastic that all those bottles are made of and we don't want anybody getting hurt by this challenge.

Rosemary your life sounds so glam, dancing, flower club and Clarins:)Jealous:o

The SA at 2 different branches of boots wouldn't let me use the Skincare voucher with the sanctuary voucher from the Christmas box so no ins for me.
