It's weird how some of the more complicated Olay stuff sets off sensitive skin - I never had a problem with the old basic one, but I don't think you can get that now, which is a shame.
I forgot to mention, I've made up a batch of fabric softener with the tresemme conditioner (makes my hair go greasy), and I'll report back on how that goes too! Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
LB moment - March 2006. DFD - 1 June 2012!!! DEBT FREE!
May grocery challenge £45.61/£1200 -
One UU: Decleor triple action rich cream (15ml) carefully donated by my Mother who found it too rich for her visage (teehee) WIOA ( would I obtain again?) Yes, a lovely lovely cream, GORGEOUS smell but £50 odd for a normal size tub makes me baulk. I'm still a mere babe! I don't need anti-wrinkle cream!
Shimmery body lotion is spluttering which is infuriating- I want to start something new!
My Alien type perfume oil has given up the ghost, and i'm trying to tactically use up Vera Wang Princess because I have seasonal perfumes and it's WAYYYYY to early to open up Davidoff Cool Water which is my spring summer scent.0 -
:hello:My Olay sample arrived today too - they must have had a mass mailing yesterday! Seems like the group concensus is that this doesn't count as an IN so I'm running with that. Well, the title of the thread is no BUYING toiletries!!
Am still really struggling not to go to Boots with my £5 voucher, but looking at the thread on that item, seems like more and more people are just putting these in the bin, as there isn't much value to be had from them anymore, and I've noticed prices cranking up since the VAT increase - by waaay more than just 2.5%. I'm gonna be strong (for once). Funny, it does get easier the longer you go without buying (ok I'm only at 2 weeks...):T
Know you're not interested, but also saw another thread saying the 3 for 2 and 5 for 4 on minis in Boots is creating a nice glitch on Sanctury and S&G mini products.....in store... please don't shoot me if a) it doesn't work and b) I am leading you into temptation....
Brilliant stash - VIVH - I was reading it going oh my god - then u had written OMG at the end, LO:dance:LLess stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
Some INs, but necessity rather than lust:rotfl:
A Mitchum roll-on, £1 off at Superdrug. I bought this after numerous recommendations on this thread, and my Dove stick is on its last legs.
2 for £5.99 hair colour, also in SD. Its a Schwartzkopf one which I've not tried before but I like the look of the colour (red) on the indicator thingy on the side of the box. Will use one of these later this evening or tomorrow.
UU a sample of 212 VIP. It smells better in the bottle than it does on me, its nice but I won't buy the full size.0 -
Very, very, very, belated birthday wishes to VALM. At least being born on Valentine's made choosing a name a piece of :bdaycake: for your parents!
Two UU's to report and a re-homed:
UU 1 was the 50ml Boots Garden Collection lavender body cream I won last week. WIBA? It's been discontinued. I wouldn't anyway, the perfume was synthetic and whilst the cream was very light, and seemed to go in ok, I was covered in bits later on, as if I hadn't exfoliated. As I body - brush and use a body puff I definitely had. Perhaps something in the cream had gone off.
UU 2 was an Aldi Lacura serum (and no, that's not all Latin!). WIBA?
Next year, probably. It is a luxury product at a money saving price. Worth investigating if you are replacing a serum.
Rehomed: 100ml Nivea Q10 hand cream into work. WIBA? Good product at a good price, but I've loads more to use up, so this has now become communal hand cream in the ladies' loo for my colleagues and our learners.
Not Bought But In: Yep...The 7ml Regenerist!
I've also got a new cleaner who is fantastic and has unearthed £14.50s worth of Tesco vouchers I was convinced had been accidentally binned.
So that's my next lot of Not Bought With Cash Ins sorted! :jErma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Happy belated birthday Valm!
One OUT to report: Lush The Boog bath ballistic. WIBA? It was a Christmas special so couldn't if I wanted to, but I'll definitely consider it if they bring it back this year - it had a nice herbal wintery smell and made the bathwater go amazing colours!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
UU Mitchum Powder deodrant WIBA - Yes love this and it doesnt irritate my armpits.
Free In - Olay sample
I have started using the S & G shampoo and I am liking this alot! I have long hair and a little seems to go a long way and it smells fab! Bit disappointed that I havent been able to track down the conditioner but I tend to use a leave in conditioner during the week anyway.0 -
I've been shopping today and had loads of NPIs! I was really tempted by a DeadSea Source Set in HomeSense for £6.99 I think. The same set is £16 in B$$ts. It contains a regular size bath soak, a regular size body lotion, a small shower gel and a small candle votive. There was also a small set of DeadSea Source body butters x 4 for around £5.99. Again, these are a lot pricier in B$$ts. As I sit here typing this I'm thinking I wish I had bought some now. There were also loads of gorgeous scented candles reduced in price but I resisted. I've got a nice one in a glass jar lit and fragrancing the living room as I speak. I went into B$$ts and had a little look at the facial skincare but managed to resist using my £5 voucher, mainly because I wanted something that didn't cost any more than that amount. While I was there I bought a Celia Birtwell lunch bag for £1 which I plan to use for work tomorrow - it's lovely and cute.
I do have some confessions though. I went into Holland & Barratt to browse at the organic toiletries and bought a Salt of the Earth Travel Natural Deodorant. It was only £3 something. I did try using a crystal deodrant a few years ago and found it very effective, however, after a few months of use my skin became itchy and so I gave up on it but I've always fancied giving one another go. I've only got one deodrant which is in use and so I don't feel guilty by the purchase. I also went into the BS to use my Telegraph voucher. I had a lovely time sampling the goodies. I was interested in the Japanese range and also in the new Earth Loving (?) range but I didn't want to buy anything which cost more than the voucher and so I bought a £5 gift box of Cherry Blossom Body Butter 50 ml and Shower Gel 60 ml with came with a shower scrunchie.0 -

What, THIS OLD BASIC ONE do you mean?!
Belated happy birthday to VALM - glad it was a good one and you got lots of nice goodies!
Cool stash Vivh - was reading down it thinking "niiiiiice"! Always nice to see a stash list that isn't full of products I could never, in a million years, afford!
I don't have any UU's or IN's to report, but I do, I think, have a cautious recommendation. When I started doing Avon I got a few freebie bits from the ANEW range to use - the Reversalist Night Sterling Emulsion that I have recently started on was one of these. I am hugely cynical about the claims that these creams make, and when I was reading the leaflet that came with it saying that it would make your skin smoother immediately, brighter in a matter of days, and make you look 5 years younger in 14 days, I have to admit to laughing uproariously......that was three days ago, and so far, well, it WORKS!My skin feels softer, and smoother, and, dare I say it, brighter too. I feel almost embarassed - I so rarely find a skincare product of any sort that actually delivers what it promises, but so far at least this really seems to. I shall gove it a while longer and, if all goes well, start singing its praises long and loud to my customers!
