I should be OK, I don't live completely in the boondocks but I know my sister had problems a couple of years back with 3 not delivering texts and such like. They do have the cheapest PAYG deal for the Wildfire though. I suppose if it all went t!ts up I could bin the SIM, get it unlocked and go back to o2.

3 coverage is random. I live in London, am often in Central London and can't remember the last time I went outside of London (probably about 18 months ago...?) I still have poor coverage! Cannot get a reception inside a building and find the connection is crackly and muffed alot of the time.

I would try finding someone else on the three network, its very hit and miss.

Seems they are like marmite they are either loved or hated. Personally I have have been with then on contract for 6 years and only had 1 issue that wasn't their fault but they were good and helped me to resolve the issue.
Signal: 3 uses it's own 3g network and orange 2g as a fall back. I know some 2g orange towers are not used when 3 deems it has sufficient coverage in an area. Best thing to do is find someone on 3 to come round and have a look what signal is like in your living room.
CS: Not the best but understandable consdiering that english is not their 1st language. Remember the front line CS staff have virtually no powers on complex matters and trying to get up the tree to get someone to help can be difficult.
Resolving Complex issues: A simple succintly worded letter of help detailing the problem, sent recorded delivery to the CS manager in Glasgow usually works.

3 are a joke. Customer services are a joke, based in India, total unhelpful and many tell blatant lies. Here in Manchester signal is poor as well, which for a big city I find totally unacceptable. Glad I got shot of them a couple of years ago.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. 3 are cheap for a reason and it's not good CS. Avoid.

They network share their 3G infrastructure with T-Mobile and now they have joined with Orange they are starting to merge with them to. Orange is shutting base stations down it no longer needs due to the merging.

As for 2G coverage this is provided by Orange in areas 3 has not 3G signal still.
  • I've got 10 contracts with them. They've been excellent, BUT if you have a problem, bypass customer service and go straight to the CEO, then it gets resolved.

Superb network, very good overall coverage - I travel all over the UK. Like any network it has places it's patchy. Check on their map you don't live in one of these areas. If that's OK, I think you'll be happy.
