Three network, any good?

I've been with O2 for over 5 years and want to upgrade to the Iphone 4 but with 02 the cost of the phone (£150-£300) is putting me off, and the deal is not too good.
So I have found an excellent deal with Three mobile £35 a month, 2000 mins, 500 txt's & unltd date (24mth contract)
Is this too good to be true? does anyone use this network and is it any good?.
Thanks for your help

I've been with three for 6 years, i've had one issue where I lost signal for a few days but that was a transmitter problem which apparently affected another network too. I was also charged for messages that didn't send too which when I called them they refunded straight away.
I've never had a problem with their call centres - all of which are based in India, I understand them, they understand me and always seem happy, and able, to help.
In my previous flat I had good reception whilst my partner who is on Vodafone could only get reception by standing by a certain window! I'm due to upgrade next month, and assuming the deal stays good i'm going to stay!
For the price I pay Three i'm currently very happy!0 -
Thanks - the Iphone deal is just so good when the near equivalent is at least £10-15 more with 02 and you have to pay for the phone!
Think I will ring 02 and see what they will offer but I'm sure they cannot compare to that deal, so will prob be changing.0 -
Been with them 6 months now and no complaints so far.0

Just remember that the iPhone 5 will be out in June/July !!0

Personally I would not touch 3 with a bargepole. I had nothing but problems with their customer services and they did not reply to my letters either.
Even a sales guy told me that customer services make their job a lot harder!0 -

I think you will find a mixed bag of reviews. I had myself and my project managers with Three, for two years and couldn't wait to get out get of the contracts. The main reason I chose them (along with the data allowances and services) was the push e-mail facilities, through Blackberries and Nokia E61/71s. They cancelled this facility with no notice at all. All my PMs were beggared. All of a sudden, we couldn't communicate between us and our clients, or with each other. They said that they sent texts to inform us, but not one us (eight phones) received one. I asked why they didn't write to us, or e-mail us and they said they had no obligation to do so. I asked what facility they had replaced it with and I was told that they had no plans to replace it with anything. I then find out that they had replaced with a web mail service, which was no good to us. There were several other poor customer service issues, mainly to do with their overseas customer service department having not a clue about the phones, the contracts, or how to resolve any issues with those contracts or handsets. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I have had many poor experiences with 3 including them scamming me into an 18 month contract when I tried to cancel and again this time sending me a "thankyou for continuing your contract with us, if you try to cancel the full amount will be billed to your bank account" letter after I called up to cancel! (Sorted now). Added to that the non coverage inside any building and the disasterous handset they would not replace- (even after the manager and staff of a three mobile shop sent in the handset on my behalf- 3 TIMES) I'd be very cautious, make sure you have coverage in yiur area and make sure you keep the reciept. If you can, speak to someone in a shop you can physically go back and complain to rather then having to call back and speak to someone who doesn't recall the details of your account from phone call to phone call.
I myself have thrown a mini party in my head as I have not long left them, contract ends the 26th Feb, congratulations are in order and I am very happy with this!0 -
I've just called them to ask if there I could return a PAYG phone if after I received it the coverage was no good and was told that I had a 14 day money back guarantee as long as I hadn't used the phone. How are you supposed to know if there's a coverage issue without using the phone?
In the postcode I checked, it said "outdoor coverage only" but the salesperson said "I have a better map and it's fine there".
Still wavering. If only o2 did the Wildfire..."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Many mobile telephone operators offer a cancellation policy for poor coverage. Others are committed to having one by the early part if this year. However, they do tend be very short - seven to fourteen days; however, Virgin offer up to twenty-eight days. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

I should be OK, I don't live completely in the boondocks but I know my sister had problems a couple of years back with 3 not delivering texts and such like. They do have the cheapest PAYG deal for the Wildfire though. I suppose if it all went t!ts up I could bin the SIM, get it unlocked and go back to o2."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0
