  • My car failed it's MOT yesterday (2 tyres) so I'm having the work done and paying for all costs tomorrow. That means yesterday and today have been NSD's.... 6 NSD's in total!

I'm yet to have the final bill, but I'm thinking triple figures. Eeek!

Hmm...I have another 'situation' here....we have just put together the bed for the spare room and need to get a duvet/pillows etc for it (have none spare that we could use except for the cat blanket which I think people might object to!) I've found a duvet on a website that is a really good deal (on offer) and some pillows which are a reasonable price - which totals enough on the order for me to collect in store for free.

Now according to my rules, any use of card or cash counts as a spend and I was trying REALLY hard for a NSD today. If I wait until tomorrow I'm worried they might stock out, and I'd have missed the deal.... but I feel a bit like I'm cheating if I make the buy and still declare a NSD....thoughts anyone?

Kerri, if it's a really good deal I think you just have to bite the bullet and go for it. It's worth sacrificing a NSD - you still have 18 days left in Feb to make it up. If you miss a good deal and end up paying more it's not very :money: is it?;) HTH!

Yesterday gave me NSD #5 :)

But today was always going to be a spend day, due to a D/Debit. So I allowed myself a Whoopsie Hunt as I left work, and came home with....

    2 blocks mature cheddar - 1 x 374g, 1 x 382g (39p each - should be £6.19/kg)
1 x 318g block 'creamy white cheese with chocolate chips and orange'... it's lovely - got some a few weeks back, and really enjoyed it (39p - should be £4.99/kg)
    1 x 204g block mexicana cheese (39p - should be £7.79/kg)
    1 x 252g block white stilton with apricots (39p - should be £8/kg)
    1 500g pack of fresh pasta (39p)
4 350g tubs of four cheese pasta sauce (39p each)
300g sliced ham from deli (59p/100g, so £1.77)
400g pack of value sliced chicken roll (25p)

and at 'full' price I picked up...

    3 x 250ml semi-skimmed milk (32p, on B2G1F)

Total bill came to £6.56, which means £6.60 deducted from grocery budget - with 4p change and 65p staff discount (I actually paid £5.91) going into my sealed jar :D
Not bad as it includes just over 1.5kg of cheese which should have cost £9.88, and the ham should have been £4.47 :T

It's been a spend day for me - needed the dreaded petrol.

  • Been a busy, busy day today and a spendy day as predicted. However, there was some good news and that was that my dentist only charged me £72 and not the predicted £260:j. This was because apparently I don't have a root canal for the poorly tooth. The downside to this is that, if I want to keep the tooth, I may have to have a small surgical treatment to "snip the end off the root" - but only if what he's done today doesn't cure the problem so fingers (and everything else) crossed.

Anyway as I knew I was going to spend something at the dentist I also bought my train ticket for next week and the weekly shopping - well a little more than a weeks shopping really.

I'm predicting that tomorrow and the next few days will be NSDs so my next challenge is 6 NSDs on the run.
  • BDINI - hope you're feeling a bit better, take care:A. I've added your 4 in a row to the front page - good luck, you can do it!!:T:T

So glad things are looking sorted Looloo, i can't begin to imagine what a relief it must be :j:j
