    Evening all!

Welcome back BigMumma - we've missed you. Btw, wher is PDD? I haven't seen a post in ages, hope everything is ok

Chris81418 - I'm always amazed at your number of NSD - very impressive (even if they do make me a teeny bit envious lol!) :T

Hope you enjoyed lunch Beanie, and you're right, sometimes we have to roll with life and remember to live too :)

ebsaver - now what do you mean 'scrape' 18 or 19? I'm having trouble hitting my 15 this month - you're putting me to shame! :p Sorry to hear about the DVDs, and especially the parking fine, they really make me  and also want to :wall:

Well it's NSD numero 12 for me today :j and 4 in a row  We've just had dinner of fish n chips BUT the fish was already in the freezer (no not the kippers from last month), we had one tin of beans left, and the chips were home made.

I did have to pop into Mr S at lunctime to get said spuds, also got a jar of mayo so I can use the hard boiled eggs I have for sarnies tomorrow, and a tin of tuna for OH sarnie too. Total £2.64 - but OH gave me £ for that :T - Got 2.5kg of basics spuds for 99p - one 'baking potato' was 74p when I weighed it

Home made oven chips were really yummy - OH said it was much nicer than the ones from the chip shop and the ready frozen ones we normally buy (think I might have made a MSE rod for my own back). They are so simple to make though - and do go a long way really - I used three decent sized spuds and that was plenty of chips for 2 adults (one being a very hungry one when he got home from work) Here's the recipie if anyone would like it - I boil mine in veg stock but I've used various Oxo cubes before, including an Indian one - which was surprisingly nice

So - 'only' 3 more NSD to target - i MIGHT just manage it this month.

  • Oh dear! Only NSD 8 for me today out of my target of 10. I really need to keep following the advice kindly re-posted by ifwisheswerehorses and BMF by getting out all the 'after school clubs' money out at the start of the week. That would certainly help a lot!

NSD #12 for me today, second target met :D

I would set a third target but I think I'm only realistically going to get one more NSD between now and the end of the month so I'll be content with the ones I've managed so far :)
    Thank you competition posters!
  • Well now
I hang my head in shame....a big total of 4

next month I will have to get a grip :)

  • NSD number 14 today. One to go :j Its been a lot easier than I imagined this month for some reason. I think I will ramp it up in March as I have nothing planned and I want to do a reduced grocery budget :D

Have a great weekend all :T

Hold that head high and proud eBayqueen - 4 NSD is 4 more than 0, and any NSD is an achievement so well done you - fingers crossed perhaps for another one or two before the end of the month

And today was NSD #13 - massively assisted by the fact I was covering the 'close and clean' shift (as well as my own - so 7.5 hours in work, with just one 15 minute break!), and the senior manager on duty was the one who doesn't allow shopping in works time under any circumstances.....

even managed to resist the temptation to 'wander past' the other reduction areas to see what bargains I was having to miss out on !!!!

Also managed to clock out on time for the first time ever when covering the late shift (with the exception of NYE, when the manager practically threw me out 5 mins early ;)) - but that was mainly due to making a huge effort to do so, as I wanted to phone someone who regularly turns in between 8:30 and 9pm due to very early starts in the mornings. Phoned him as soon as I got out of the building at 8:33pm - which he didn't expect given he knew I was at work until 8:30 :)
