I had one of those too - I am totally peed off! Was at my desk at 7.50am and didnt lift my head until 1.15. Had 20 mins for lunch and lots of emails fired at me with "things to be done". Bearing in mind I am on a 3 mth secondment to help this team out, I am rather cheesed off at their attitude. I left tonight fizzing mad:mad:, but I'm more mad at myself for not saying anything. I am preparing a list of points which will be getting raised tomorrow!
I had thought of making the 3 day thing permanent if all went well, ( the money would be handy)but my instincts are telling me to revert back to my original team once the 3mths are up!
Sorry for the rant:o
Rant away Jinty, i agree with what Beanie said that it sounds like they are taking advantage of your good nature. Good luck with raising your issues today, i do hope they listen & appreciate all you do!!I get paid weekly but all my direct debits come out of a separate account which I transfer funds into from my main account just once a month. Just want some clarification for NSD's really, as I have DD's coming out over 9 separate days do I count these as spend days OR do I just count the one day I transfer the one amount from my main account as a spend day???
Bexs - i don't count my DD's at all, as my aim in this challenge is to eliminate unwanted spending. You can set the rules to suit yourself, so you could count 1 spend day, 9 spend days or even none at all IYSWIM!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
Good morning all,
Reporting Monday as NSD #7.
Had to buy petrol yesterday, so not sure whether to count it or not. I keep changing the rules, as to begin with I told myself I was just going to include spending that I shouldn't be doing, but once again I've started to count all spends! If I only count the "naughty" spends, I'm up to 14 already! Wonder if I can get to my target if I do include everything? Going to try it, it's only 3 off now, and I've got 6 days left including today lol.

Did it help??? I'm struggling with a cold and your cure sounds just up my street... :j But that would require me to have a spend day and I've actually logged on to declare that because I feel crook & staying indoors I shall declare today a NSD... Dilemma.
I shall remain strong. Out for lunch tomorrow so shall be spending then. Plus out this evening to a baby shower so shall no doubt get something resembling crisps there (I hope ).
So, NSD 12 for me. Not going to meet my target, but thanks to this challenge I haven't gone out spending as often as I used to.
Thanks everyone for you posts - they are always encouraging!0 -
Good morning moneysavers
I thought i would pop by and tell you that I have hit my target of 14 NSDs :j:j:j:j:j:j:j for this month. I wasn't expecting overtime this month either so there may be more yet cos I rarely spend on the days I work.
I hope everyone is keeping well and that half term isn't driving anyone insane. Its a shame that the weather is so rotten, its dull and rainy here so not much fun for you guys with kids to keep entertained.
Anyway better go
Have a good and frugal day everyone

what time does you Milk&More man turn up? I keep thinking about ordering some bits but I leave home by 7.20 and Mr Looloo by 8.30?
Hi Sunny. My milk&more order turned up this morning as scheduled. All seems to be there (haven't checked it against the list and as it was 'free' I can't quite remember exactly what I ordered) The left it under the window as expected so all good. It must have arrived between 7am - 8am (OH leaves at 7am and it wasn't there then, unless he walked right past and left it there :rotfl:) You could prob ask the depot near you what time they are likely to deliver.
I must admit it was nice just to open the door and have the bits n bobs there just needing to be put away. My only (slight) grumble is that it was delivered in a milk crate so now I either need to place a new order and leave it out to be collected, or take the crate to the local depot (luckily not far) but that's not really a biggie.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

It helped me feel better yesterday, but has not cured the cold, alas I type this from my bed as I couldn't get up this morning. OH kindly went to get me some supplies, lemsip, lucozade etc but as he paid this could end up being another NSD for me - silver lining and all that....

Some helpful suggestions and ideas to follow below from our sponsor and godmother, BigMummaF :ANO SPEND CHALLENGE.
1. Have a good, long think about what YOU want to include in your Spend & Excluded categories.
Some of us count everything from Direct Debits & school expenses, while others do not include things like essential Bills or emergency medical costs. If you plan what is or is not a Spend for you now, it will help you decide on a realistic Target.
2. It is NOT a race!
We all have very different demands on our time & bank balance, so please do not think you have to buy everything on 1st January & make it last till 31st December! A few of us have been following this Challenge for a long...long...LONG time so have developed plans & ploys to help us along the way
3. Most important of all, WE..DO..NOT..FAIL!
Sometimes we can't quite reach our Target, but that is fineEveryone knows how Life will try to trip us up, & that is when you will find us here to help you back on to your feet.
OK, an idea of how some of us do things.
1. What you will or will not include as a 'Spend'.
Some people are doing other Challenges too, & don't include the money spent on those for this one.
Some will try to shop for other bits on the days their direct debits etc go out of their bank accounts; they're the real hard core of the bunch& have been l-o-n-g time Nsders so don't panic
Some won't count those annoying last minute demands from school & collections as you can't plan for them in advance, likewise emergency prescriptions or visits to the vet
Personally speaking & providing I don't buy anything else, I don't count parking for hospital appointments.(..but then I usually do my shopping because I'm already out )
General thoughts on €bay sales is the buyer has paid P&P so no cost to you
2. It takes Time to reach mega-numbers!
The First suggestion is the first, because a bit of planning will work wonders on your road to your Target. Have a look at Solvent's (aka Spoon:rotfl:) first posts each month for a hefty list of other Threads that may be of help. For example, there's a few giving ideas for packed lunches so you can avoid standing in the queue at the bakers for 45mins of your lunch hour! A good incentive to tweak your healthy eating & the pounds you save will show in your bank balance AND your waistline
It helps to have various 'money pots' for the different costs that happen like Scouts, dinner money, yoga, window cleaner etc etc. The idea is you "spend" all that money in one hit by....let's say **putting the week's bus fares into the pretty coffee jar, Jo's tumble tots SIZE=2]Weds mornings[/SIZE in the cracked teapot & Ben's £1 coin for the gym locker SIZE=2]Friday lunch[/SIZE in the pocket of the changing bag, on Tuesdays every week when you've got some change from doing the food shop, so an already spendy day. At least four 'spending days' condensed into one(**mine's jam jars for windows, milkman & a bit towards the bills!)
3. Any day the money stays in your pocket is a bonus!
If you look at it as a day you beat the system, you can't help but :j so don't fret it--ENJOY! If nothing else in here, we do manage find something to make us smile
We have virtual outings to wonderful places that never cost us a bean :rotfl:New York, Edinburgh & Brighton have been a couple & Spoon usually pilots the Tardis but you can use your own transport; my personal favourite has been a sit-on lawn mower borrowed from the cricket clubThe only thing to be aware of is Hubert the donkey who is partial to anything remotely edible but is not yet house-trained
And Remember;
there are no silly questions, so don't be afraid to ask us anything!"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"
