Just thought I'd pop in and say hi as I seem to have fallen off the radar for the last weeks. Have been spending less time doing housework and more time chilling out with DH and DD so only minimal flying going on. Occasionally lurk while at work but not allowed to log on and post so difficult to keep up.

Sending big hugs and spoons to all those who need it although I'm not exactly sure who at the moment :o, and thanks obviously to the wonderful ladies in central command who keep this thread going

Mrs B...you could try the visual shove as I like to call it.

I got a huge whiteboard £4.95 from Wilkinsons and on it I write down jobs that need doing and ask who is going to do what. Like a 'C'mon everyone, I'm picking this to do, what are you choosing'...it works better than shouting. I agree though its clever strategy to motivate the unmotivated but it can be done, even if its just in patches.

We also play the lets fill a carrier full of rubbish game, that's quite good and gets competative as we charge round the house.

Good luck, believe me there are many of us on here who know exactly how you feel. xxxx

OK. Kitchen decluttered. BM on. I used up some of the half packs of flour that I found lurking in a cupboard (think they've been there for about 2 years.) Hope it works. DH loved the fresh bread when I used to make it. I'm hoping my gorgeous new slicer will make it easier for sandwich making.

Managed to get living room, dining room, hall, stairs and loo totally gutted today. Got the kitchen to do tomorrow but DPs offered to take the boys on his own so I can get it done then off to my air cadets parade/reunion thing which should be good.

Only problem, official study start was today ....not done any today :o but I'll do more during the week once we're sorted
lil-me, have you got DP on side to give you time to study? And I don't mean late evening when you have finished doing 100% of everything that needs doing for the family.
  • Dailies done. I was going to have the rest of the day off from flying but the ironing board magically set itself up in the kitchen after catching up on some of this thread, so I guess it's a HHI for me now. :D

    Morning all

Congratulations to the JulieJim's - DH's new job must be a weight off your mind!
Embb - continued recovery vibes for your DGD!
Hope you solve the mystery, greenbee. I would feel uneasy, too.

I'm slowly catching up with the laundry and have done quite a bit of decluttering/re-homing already. I've decided to follow Mrs B's example and just get on with it. I will not be beaten by a house, even one looking like this! I know I've said this before, but I'm reaching breaking point and it's just not worth it. :o

Next is homework with DS2, bath, a trip to the supermarket (milk and cheese mainly), delivering shopping to MIL's and more decluttering/cleaning. All of this interspersed with laundry and school stuff, of which there is lots.

Have a good Sunday, everyone. x
  • Been MIA this week as a busy week out of the house a lot. Did Kitchen Monday and the bathroom basics yesterday.

Today I need to put DW on and do 1 x WM.

Taken spare quilt & pillows that were under the bed to be stored in attic.
Under bed storage now in two new under bed storage on castors:
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8759009/Trail/searchtext%3EUNDER+BED+STORAGE.htm
spare bedding and summer clothes in there.

Extra bits of spare beding in attic added to charity shop pile: just kept one set for (very rare) visitors.

Advertised carpet cutoff and kitchen worktop cut off on fr££cycle: going to the dump tomorrow afternoon if not taken.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
