Valli . Anyine sold/bought curtains on e bay?
I bought some Laura Ashley curtains for the bargain price of £45 on buy it now,:D (a same size identical pair went for £143, so very pleased) I paid £10 delivery and was happy with the price. They were 80" wide and 90" long and fully lined. I bought some interlined ones 2 years ago (fleece lining inbetween curtain and lining) and paid £16 postage cos they weighed a ton. HTH

:hello:Hi to all my flylady friends!! I have had a really busy week, and haven't had a chance to pop in at all - I've missed you!

Same here, really busy with loads going on but all well.

Must get to bed now as it's DS3's birthday tomorrow (I'm expecting tears with DH being away).

Sorry I've not read most of the thread but belated Happy Birthday for any I've missed and love and hugs for The Jellies and The Nixies xx

Dusty - hope he has a good day anyway.
Helen - thinking of you and yours. Scarily expensive, your mum may be able to get a grant? My MIL had problems as we paid the deposit so needs looking into up front.
Paulies nixie - thinking of you too
Mumof2 - hope you are feeling better this morning

First job this morning is to clear DS2s bed. DH is away, loudly windy outside and things keep crashing out of his bed

Small list for this morning -
    Wipe dishes
    Put washing on
    Feed animals
    Shower
    Kids shower
    Kids breakfast
    Iron clothes
    Tidy living room
    Hoover
    Dust and polish

Ok having been told off for not sticking to flylady's like i planned last october and continuing to live in utter Chaos. No let me correct that grubby and getting grubbier Chaos.

I'm starting today.. not next monday like i keep thinking.. today.

Now i've just got home wolfed down a bowl of stew from the slow cooker and im looking at the list. Do you think it's a good enough start to just do the things in red? I guess that will take about an hour or so?

I just don't want to be lazy and have a huge amount of work to do around the house because frankly it's gross!!! but at the same time i'm knackered from work

Thursday ~ Bathroom, WC and Study
    Level One
Declutter and vacuum/mop floors in these rooms!
Set pc to declutter cache and defrag while you scrub the fixtures and fitting in the bathroom/wc.
    Level Two
Polish screens (microfibre cloth and a dab of white vinegar brings them up a treat) and mirrors and glass shelves.
Shine taps and shower rails and radiators
Remove 10 dead/unused links from your favourites and clear out some of your inbox!
    Level Three
Remove all dirty laundry/smelly soft furnishings to the wash basket
Replace bathmats/shower curtains/sponges and toothbrushes that are manky
Declutter and wipe the desk.. do any filing you find on there! (well a half job the desk is huge i don't think i can do it all tonight)

Also will it really work?? my house is a disaster will doing the daily jobs really make much difference in the short/long term for a house in a real mess or do i need tougher action to begin with?

Ok reporting back on yesterday :)

I managed my list and even did a few bits and bob's that wheren't on it in the bathroom, i still have a very very cluttered bathroom shelving unit which i didn't touch

However i did clean off the around the side of the both and window sill throwing away all the empty bottles that where living there and while i mopped the floor i cleaned the skirts and all around the back of the sink and toilet as well as finally threw away the 50 empty loo rolls that where breeding on the floor.

I Know it's only a small victory and it was always going to be the easiest room to manage but it was such a nice feeling walking in there this morning and seeing it as something other than a health hazard.

    :j:j

I also sat down and made a meal plan, i've fallen out of the habit and it's costing me a fortune in food, so i sat down and did a list of meals using the food i have and found out i have enough for about 30 days.

Feeling abit more in control now thankyou all :T:T

Realistically your house did not descend into chaos overnight - so you can't expect to turn it round overnight either....

Since the start of the year I have made a few changes - 1 is that one load of washing goes through every evening and is on the radiators before I go to bed. The second load is in the machine and primed with detergent - OH gets up at 5 and all he has to do is hit the start button - and it's ready for me at 6am.

So sometimes half of the previous days washing is ironed (and because I put it neatly on the rads the ironing is reduced) before the kids get up!:j:j:jwhich is great,

The knock on effect is that having changed most of the beds this week all the bedding is now clean, ironed and put away!:T:T

So the knock on effect is growing - snowballing if you would.... I had time to do a thorough clean of the kitchen floor on Monday...and now the kitchen sink is clear when I go to bed (I hated coming down to washing up in a bowl of mucky water!)

I've been here for ages....... but I think I've turned a corner - but stick with the doing little things - you will begin to see an improvement!

    Hope this helps!
