Ok having been told off for not sticking to flylady's like i planned last october and continuing to live in utter Chaos. No let me correct that grubby and getting grubbier Chaos.
I'm starting today.. not next monday like i keep thinking.. today.
Now i've just got home wolfed down a bowl of stew from the slow cooker and im looking at the list. Do you think it's a good enough start to just do the things in red? I guess that will take about an hour or so?
I just don't want to be lazy and have a huge amount of work to do around the house because frankly it's gross!!! but at the same time i'm knackered from work
Thursday ~ Bathroom, WC and Study
Level One
Declutter and vacuum/mop floors in these rooms!
Set pc to declutter cache and defrag while you scrub the fixtures and fitting in the bathroom/wc.
Level Two
Polish screens (microfibre cloth and a dab of white vinegar brings them up a treat) and mirrors and glass shelves.
Shine taps and shower rails and radiators
Remove 10 dead/unused links from your favourites and clear out some of your inbox!
Level Three
Remove all dirty laundry/smelly soft furnishings to the wash basket
Replace bathmats/shower curtains/sponges and toothbrushes that are manky
Declutter and wipe the desk.. do any filing you find on there! (well a half job the desk is huge i don't think i can do it all tonight)
Also will it really work?? my house is a disaster will doing the daily jobs really make much difference in the short/long term for a house in a real mess or do i need tougher action to begin with?
Hi EllieA
I'm sure someone who has been here longer than me will be able to give you some good advice, but for the time being welcomeAnything you do will be better than not doing anything and after a while of doing a little bit every day you will get on top of the CHAOS x
Also, I think you need this :xmastree: so toots can send you a welcome email xBe the change you want to see in the world - Gandhi

Hi Ellie,
Yes it does work. Make yourself do at least half an hour every day - even if it is just a quick wipe of the worktops, empty/fill dishwasher, shove washing machine on and a wipe of the loos. Little things like folding washing hot from tumble dryer make a huge difference to the ironing mountain. It takes a while to have an impact, and the first time you do the big jobs it feel like it is taking forever. Point is if you have speed wiped the bathroom every few days it never really needs scrubbing and the grout doesn't need re-whitening and so on. Find a routine that works for you and make yourself stick to it.
Also don't try and keep up with the thread or you will drown.... Take what you need from it, post if you want to, set us all off on keeping you company on a half hour challenge if that motivates you.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
EllieA has inspired me to play now! I am physically limited so can't play all the time, or do all the jobs I used to do, but that is NO EXCUSE not to do what I can, when I can. Good day today as had wonder-jab which will hopefully last for a few weeks. I'm going to post what I've done (is that allowed?) rather than make a list of what I intend to do. I find once I've done one thing properly I can do the next...
So today
filled and emptied dishwasher twice
put DS and my clothes away
vacuumed sitting room
basic bathroom sink tidy
cleared coffee table
wiped kitchen tops
got OH to take off wobbly toilet seat to give big clean and put back not-wobbly
(this isn't all he does - he does the bulk in the house a lot of the time - this is just a job that I can't do physically and it's been niggling - so hoorah!)0 -
Here you go ubamother, have one of these so Toots can see you and send you a welcome pm - :xmastree:
Right, must go and do that washing up - no more stalling ....Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

I was wondering if someone can gently fling a fluffy mule for me please. My BD who was scratching at the door is now firmly in with me and I can't shake him - so much so I called the GP and she's told me to up my meds
. Feel really disappointed as I was doing so well, but as she pointed out I was on a really low dose so it's fine.
I really can't be bothered to do anything; have wasted the day, hardly had any exercise, shouted at the kids and just want to go to bed and curl up in a ball.
((hugs)) I'm not going to fling a mule; send the BD over here for Tess-dog to play with.. Tomorrow will be better, and you're bound to get ups and downs, especially on low meds. You've recognised it though, which I bet is an improvement on how things used to be, and that's half the battle. Bet you've done more than you think today too. 'Hardly any exercise' is still some!!
take care xWhen people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -
So sad to hear your news Helen Jelly and Paulie's Nixie. Take care of yourselves. xx
Mumof2, I don't know what advice to give you - I feel like I'm just getting going again after a couple of months of barely getting by. Can you do something simple from today's list? Perhaps change the towels in the bathroom or delete 10 un-used favourites?
EllieA, I saw your other thread - you have a lot on your plate! I'm a newbie here too, so I can't tell you if it will work in the long-term, but I wanted to suggest that you could set a timer for 15 or 30 minutes and see how much you can get done from your list in that time. And if you have the energy you could take a little break and do another session! Good luck, and try not to get too overwhelmed. That way lies stress and you don't need any more of that.
As for my own flying today, I got my full dailies list done again (:T) and cleaned the bathroom, including fixing the toilet seat which had become a bit wobbly. Actually spent a lot of time searching for a big folder of old digital photos. I'd resigned myself to having lost them but finally found a CD-ROM with them all on so they are now safely copied across to my hard-drive. Right, off to cross a couple more things off this list before settling down with my knitting.

Hi Peeps and all the Newbies,
Hugs, spoons and big sticks as required, special one for shysarah, it's all shiny 'cos you been very, very good.:D
Got back from my Dads today, found that DH had put DW on, all good so far...
I emptied said DW and found a muffin tin that we'd used for Yorkies,(had oil in). Had been put in and not wiped out first, the oil had all emulsified and is very sticky like the proverbial.
What can I get the sticky residue off with? I've tried a scrubby thing with WUL, no joy.
