Oh heavens. About three stone. At 11 stone and a quarter, I'm not even 5 ft tall and should therefore weigh, at most, approx 8 stone. I may not achieve it in my lifetime!!

If I could lose another 10 kg I'd be reasonably happy. I've only lost 7 kg in the last 18 months. 7 x 2.2 = approx 15 pounds. Think bags of sugar lined up on the kitchen worktop!

Maybe you could try a week of eating different foods?
Sometimes that can give your system a wee kick start.
Sorry if you know this already which you most likely do.

    How is this for motivation?

Received junk mail today which I always open and one was from Janet Thomson (Power To change)
A friend of mine wanted to lose weight, and fed up of trying and failing in the past, he wrote a cheque for £1000 and thought of the worst thing that could happen to his money, and the most abhorrent recipient he could think of was to give it to the BMP.
So in front of a group of his friends he pre-dated the cheque for 6 months time and made it payable to the BMP and told his friends that if he lost 2 stones within 6 months they must give him the cheque back and he could tear it up, but if he failed to lose the weight they would give it to the BMP. He lost the weight in 4 months.
He later said that on the days when he really didn’t feel like exercising, he thought of where his cheque would go if he didn’t and he got off his backside whatever the weather and went jogging. So what intolerable alternative can you set to make sure you achieve your goal?
Write a cheque for a sum that would really hurt, and give it to someone who will pay it if you fail. Are you prepared to do that? This is the real test of how committed you are.

This week I'm reporting a.... (wait for it)....... 6lb loss :j:j:j
Looks like I was losing the last few weeks but it just wasn't showing for some reason, as there's no way I could have lost 6lb in one week. Anyway it doesn't matter how, why or where just that its nearly half a stone and its gone.:D I'm now almost at my interim goal of 15stone (or 210lbs) It sounds allot but
I was nearly 18stone when I started and my "healthy" weight is 12stone so its kinda in the middle. I don't actually want to lose all the way down to 12 atm as 14stone is about right but I'm pretty sure that when I get to 14 I'll reassess and decide I could still do with losing a few pounds. :rotfl:

I am 5' 0" and in all my life was never a candidate for the 7½ or 8st "healthy weight for my height" - I was always around the 9st mark. I have had a recent discussion with my doctor who is of the opinion that, if my BMI is under 30, she would not consider me to be overweight - and she sees me on a regular basis! I am not even considering a target weight that is remotely near what I SHOULD weigh - I am aiming for just around 10st mark which still leaves me in the "overweight" BMI category but so what - I'll be happy and that's what matters to me!

I'm 5'3" and I'm happier when I'm 9½ or thereabouts. Never happy when I'm 10 stones and over :rotfl:

  • Has anyone got a copy of 30 day shred that they don't want? Delivery time on Amazon is about two weeks as they don't stock it as an item anymore, just from their market place.....

I would say have mine but as soon as I have the OK from my physio I will be doing it again but try http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/11755166/Jillian-Michaels-30-Day-Shred/Product.html?searchtype=allproducts&searchsource=0&searchstring=30+day+shred&urlrefer=search HTH

STS for me - getting a bit annoyed with this but then I remember I have been ill and living on pop tarts and wotsits so i made my own bed in that respect...

Day 1 of the No S diet for me!! No snacks, no sweets and no seconds - apart from on days starting with an S!!
    http://www.nosdiet.com/

I spent a lot of last night reading the website, and it really makes sense! It's not faddy, no food is 'banned' specifically and it's something you really can stick to for life because it's just the way normal people eat - the way I have longed to eat like my friends who are stick thin, and the relationship I want to have with food.

and no one is perfect and you can't deny yourself anything for life, that's why that Saturday/Sunday/Special day exception is there - I see my friend on a Saturday and she will have some cake with lunch, but a part of me says 'she can eat cake with lunch and not get fat why can't I?', but I bet she doesn't do that every day! Treats are just that - treats - rare, occasional, deserved treats that are not 'evil' - they are not the reason I am fat it's the frequency with which I shove them in my gob that is the reason!!

Sorry for the rant - I feel as though I have had an epiphany - this is the only diet that has spoken to me in my own language, my own tone, and said plainly It's your fault now sort it out!
"Take a look in the mirror. The guilty party is staring right at you."

Betty a lot of this make sense to me and it is what Paul Mckenna said on his I can make you thin system too. I like the last quote about the Guilty Party I think I might have to print that off and stick it on my Mirror

Teecee you have a good doctor and I wish mine was so supportive. Just keep going until you feel comfortable :) Eric has some great things to say about BMI but it is silly on some people what this calculation says you should be.

  • I am unhappy to report a 1lb gain this week  Have to honest and admit I am mortified but as my OH said there are worse things happening in the world than putting on 1lb !

Also I have had the day from hell at work  feel like I have not stopped at all. :( But I did have 2 people not recognise me which I think speaks volumes.

I have done 17 sets of work stairs today and have just taken my frustration of the gain out on my home stairs while chatting to my mum
and when I added up I had done 52 sets :j:j:j

So according to my chart I have gone beyond the top of Everest :rotfl: So where is that Hot chocolate Mandz ?

Keep going everyone only another 8 days to go :T
