I just bought a Samsung D500!

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&item=6369370797

I'm in the Winning bidders list! :D...Kept thinking 'do I need a new phone, my Samsung E700 is still fine' etc but decided to treat myself ;)

Mind you, for the price he's knocking them out at (£200 + £5 p&p) I could end up re selling it for a profit!

Sorry to burst your bubble...but are you mad?!? You have just paid a seller £200, and they have 2 feedback! Sorry to be so pesamistic but I know eBay pretty well and I would never spend that kind of money from a seller with just 2 feedback. How do you know you will get your phone? This guy has just sold 20 of them = £4000. Thats a hell of a lot of sales for someone with 2 feedback.

I hope I am wrong, I really do, but I would just never do that.

Edit: How are you going to pay? They don't even accept Paypal so you will not get any protection. I would just be really careful and seriously think about this purchase. The awful description and the fact that the seller has put "this is not a scam" immediatly makes me think it IS a scam!:(

and he has only ever recd feedback on selling a 3-piece-suite?

on second glance, looks like he is leaving q a lot of feedback so maybe he is just starting up in the mobile phone business....

Well I emailed him several times the other day and quick responses, I have also got his telephone number. Don't worry, I'm sending no cheque off until I am 100% happy to go ahead.

Most scammers use PayPal / Western Union etc...

I've moved this to the ebay board as that's the direction the discussion seems to be going in :)

Hmm..got to say, I wouldn't of risked it. At least if you pay with your credit card through Paypal you've got some recourse. Oh well, ever the sceptic!

    OP- I wish you luck.

I'm with Bargain babe on this one. There is a video I want and yesterday I saw it at considerably less than its usual price, trouble is the seller had only 1 feedback and didn't take paypal. I am so paranoid I wouldn't even risk the £12 that it would have cost me.

Also, as it is coming in from Milan are there going to be any additional charges for inporting it? I'm not sure about VAT and stuff now on Euro goods.

Having his telephone number means noting. How do you know its even HIS number??!! I have a fake number listed on my ebay account as I don't want my number going out to people as do lots of my friends.

Hope you get the phone and it's in good working order.
  • Send me a name/address and tel No.
I can`t guarantee anything but can tell you what I find out and then you decide if you want to send off the cheque.
