uninsurable

I was recently involved in an accident with a lorry. All the fault lay with the lorry driver( claim is still pending) My insurance company have advised me of the amount they will pay for my car- which was a total write off. I have been to sort out a new car but have found that I cannot get insurance- I contacted my original broker who says that no underwriter will accept me. Does anyone know why this is?
As far as I know the lorry driver is happily carrying on as if nothing happened but I am worried about any costs I might also incur bcause of the hire vehicle my insurance company provided

What do you think the lorry drive should do?

they won't say. All they can tell me is that no underwriter is prepared to insure me. The broker was shocked at the complete blank too

I have been driving for over 10 years with only a slight bump in the icy weather last March

not a lot he can do I suppose..I'm just angry that he caused the accident and will be able to carry on as if nothing happened , whereas, if I can't get insurance then I can't get to work etc etc

full story is ..I was in the slow lane on the motorway, he decided to overtake me ( I was sticking to the 50mph limit) He travelled in the middle lane for quite a while but the car that was then in front of him wouldn't move out of his way. He decided to pull back into the slow lane but may have forgotten I was there. The long and short of it is, he pushed me for quite a distance along the motorway, then onto the grass verge and in to a tree. My car rolled and it was a write off

Obviously something amiss here, My sisters had 3 accidents and has no issues getting insurance cover.

Premium not as high as i would have expected either.
