Benefits of Being Registered Disabled

My son (aged 8) and I are both registered disabled and in receipt of Disability Living Allowance. I receive Lower rate mobility, my son receives Middle rate Mobility and Care, his mother also receives carers allowance.
Apart from parking, we wanted to know what other types of things are available to us and my wife.
Times are difficult and we want to see how we can maximise everything. I know my wife took our son to Alton Towers recently and was allowed to jump the queue etc, we can also receive a cinema card which gives a free ticket.
I am looking for these types of things, perhaps My son due to his age can receive cheaper extra curricular activities or shopping/travel/holidays etc, or his mum? As an adult what can I get? I appreciate every company varies, but am just wondering if there are any standard things available to us all?
Many thanks in advance for taking the time to read this, any info would be much appreciated.

Here's a link to a thread on the Disability & Dosh forum which may be of help:

It's quite long, and some of it may be redundant now (I haven't read through it for quite a while, and even then I was just doing my noseying
) but might be worth having a wee read through anyway. 0 -
the vast majority of councils have now abolished registering disabled people, basically qualifying for dla is now the same thing. My local authority hasnt had a register since the late 1990s0

i have a blue badge, and find it strange that in many car parks it makes you exempt from parking fees. i understand being able to park closer to where you need to be is good...........but being disabled doesnt mean youre less able to pay the charge.0

I think that no parking fees cost is why some people use other people's blue badges. (but that's another topic!)" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

as i said, i have a blue badge ( im registered blind, but physically fine). my mum on the other hand has rhematoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, but refuses to claim AA and a blue badge as shes old school, and says 'me and your dad can manage'. i only use the blue badge when she is with me, no to get out of paying, but so we can park closer for her.
strictly speaking its an abuse, as i'm using it for her. but as long as i'm there too ( which i always am) its perfectly legal.0 -
What is 'registered disabled'.
Im not aware there is any register of disabled people.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
I dont think there really is a "benefit" of being registered disabled.
I think majority of people who are disabled wishes they wernt!0 -
Have you tried your local council lesiure centre? I know our council gives reductions for swimming etc for people who qualify for DLA and those on a low income.
Also the Family fund might be able to help with holidays?
