Our cooker went pop on Friday night. Saturday at 11am we walked into a local independent shop in the little town where we live and after choosing a cooker which was price matched against Comet, Dixon and Argos, they delivered it at 4pm and apologised for not being able to get to us quicker! They installed cooker and took the other away. Ok I wasnt able to use Quidco or had the range to choose from but I am able to pay them in 2 lots with no interest!!
• Nice one Foggster. I'm going to start thinking like that next time I need some expensive appliance. Sod Dixons. They just phoned me to confirm my cooker is coming tomorrow. Is it really? I made no such plans with them? Good job I have the day off work, eh? Idiots....
• Just to wrap this up....cooker was delivered today, about 2 hours past the estimated 4 hour window. The two guys were great, very professional. Shame the same can't be said for the entirety of the organisation....:(

Did the depo phone ahead and tell you they were going to be late, or was it just a case of fingers crossed and hope.

OP....Suggest you escalate and complain to John Browett, Dixons Group/ Currys/PCWorld Chief Executive, via sending him an email at john.browett@dixons.co.uk.

You will get a response and it should be to your advantage.

Good luck.
• CoolHotCold, nope. The driver rang about ten mins before he got here, thats all.
SirMarcus, I may just do that. Cheers fellas.
• So, I sent an email to John Browett and, surprise surprise, recieved no reply whatsoever. There you have it folks. Currys/Dixons customer service is just as bad as the rest of the organization. Avoid!!

Should have emailed customer services. Mr Browett's been rather busy this week
Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler

I shouldn't think that really matters, he probably has someone helping him with his emails.

I emailed customer service a few months ago to tell them their procedures were wrong, they must be busy too...
