Is it possible to install software from DVD on to a netbook?

There are several ways to do this:

Which processor is better? The 270 or the 450. Sorry but not very up on these things.
theoretically the 450, but I doubt any differences would be noticeable in normal use.
Also can I print from it to my usual printer - not wireless as I mainly want it for coupon printing.

Yes, its just like any other PC when connecting peripherals

Thanks, would love to order one, if it will do.

yes, but you will need an external DVD rom (£20ish on eBay if you don't have one), which connects by USB.

  • Thanks OP, just ordered a red one for myself, an early birthday present....I'll let DH know now what he's bought me! Great find, the positive comments were really useful and helped to make my mind up.

Thanks for all the speedy answers, I have just ordered the red one to be collected on in-store on Tuesday, using Topcash and getting my Clubcard Points.
Hoping I can set it up - may be needing more expert advice, your such nice people!
  • Really dim - sorry -

If I bought one of these and used a wi-fi conection out and about (at mcd's etc) how secure is that conection? would checking my bank balance on line be ok - or is that risky?

There was a prog on telly about 6 months ago which showed how easy it was to hack into people's laptops etc when they were using the wi-fi provided by cafes etc.

The advice was to only do general surfing and do banking or even checking your email from a more secure connection.

Not recommended on a open connection but if you have good security using wpa2 on your own router that it should be okay
