Bargain Acer Netbook Tesco

Red one has a better CPU. ;-)
There's some issue with whether this is the case or not. The blue one states it has the N270 processor in one part of the description and the N450 in another.
I'm just off the phone to Tesco who agree the website has wrong info in one part, but they don't know which part is the wrong bit. Chap is going to pass it over to the web team to investigate it but that doesn't help people who want to order now.
I've just ordered a red and a blue one to cover the possibility there are 2 different processors with the proviso I can return one for a refund.
That said, there are certain colour laptops on the site that state they have no webcam whilst another colour does. Apparently they have all been arriving with webcams though.Herman - MP for all!0 -
As much as it pains me to buy an Acer after the hassle with the last one, I've just bought 2 for the kids at this price. I've got that edition of Office 2007 so I should be just put the key in and they'll have that to use too as it is on there as a trial.
I've ordered 2 red and 2 blue for collection and will check before collecting from store which has the fastest processor first. I am getting them Wednesday morning so I'll confirm the spec then if no-one has before then.0 -

Thanks OP - great find.:T
BM - I've done the same as you - ordered one of each colour for collection. If you could post when you find about the processor that'd be great pls.0 -

The D250 definitely has the n270 processor, its the slightly newer D255 that has the n450.
I wouldn't be too worried, the difference between the 2 is negligible and only really impacts on battery life (and not by a huge amount either). Both processors are 1.6Mhz.
All D250's have a webcam.====0 -
Thanks OP, I ordered one of these at 02.00 this morning when I did a site catch up after my holiday ( got home at 12.40 this morning
)
Just what I was looking for and ordered a red one, to pick up at local store after 4pm tomorrow. Thanks again. :j0 -
Thanks OP. Just ordered a blue one. I've been looking for a cheap netbook for ages. Just want it for surfing internet really, so hopefully this will do the job.0

Thanks very much.
Just ordered the red one to collect from store.
I bought one of the blue ones from Asda a few years ago which were on offer for £150 but they were Linux.
This will be far better having Windows as I can connect my Skyphone S2 phone to it and go online when I go to the in laws who don't have internet access (couldn't do that with Linux).0 -
For any ladies out there wondering about the size of these, mine easily fits into an average sized handbag.
Great size and great for getting online whilst sitting in McDonalds car parks!
Our internet wasn't working at home and I needed to get online so I drove to McD's, whose car park was full so I parked across the road in the Aldi car park and got online without any problems.0 -

Just found the link to the one I bought from Asda.

I assume this is the same except it had Windows 7 instead of Linux.0 -
Which processor is better? The 270 or the 450. Sorry but not very up on these things.
Also can I print from it to my usual printer - not wireless as I mainly want it for coupon printing.
Is it possible to install software from DVD on to a netbook?
Thanks, would love to order one, if it will do.0
