I spent £31 of my remaining £36 today. I am not sure if i can do the rest of the month on only a fiver.
I have stocked up on a lot though. I got the 3 for 2 on porridge oats at Mr T. I bought cheese from c0stc0 and eggs. I have also had to buy nappies, and extra bicarb to put in the bath with my DS for his chicken pox. I also bought him chocolate as he asked for it as he was feeling off it, and apple juice. I felt mean saying no when he was ill.
I am trying to not be too hard on myself as last year i did not include any toiletries or cleaning stuff in the grocery budget, although i am this year in the hope it makes me wake up to myself and reduce overall spends.0 -
my new washers finally coming today
Mine broke today! : ( It just doesn't dry, I think it cleans fine but the clothes end all damp and cold instead as before, warm and just a bit wet. I have been looking at Freecycle and eB@y but nothing around my area. The cheapest I can see with at least some known brand costs around £199, but I was trying to save for a narrow chest freezer that I saw for £130
I also need to do quite a bit of shopping this week, I am just avoiding it but milk is running, bread is almost gone, one egg left and only a couple of things in the freezer. I was planning to try and stock up, the 9 toilet paper rolls offer at MrM ends on Monday or Tuesday (was it £2.25?, somebody said about a voucher somewhere, where was this?). Planning to buy there also the Nescafe Decaff 200g 2 x £5. PGtips in MrT at 2 x £7 and Finish Ai1 42 at £4.49 in MrS.
Anyone knows where I can find cheap eggs?

Saving Jane:
Gently drop the egg into a bowl of cold water. If it:- sinks to the bottom and stays there, it is about three to six days old.
- Sinks, but floats at an angle, it's more than a week old.
- Sinks, but then stands on end, it's about two weeks old.
- Floats, it's too old and should be discarded.

Still managing to live off what we have in and in freezer. My husband thinks I'm ill LOL, I'm usually shopping every other day. Will need to get more milk, apart from that, I reckon I can get by for at least another week, before I actually need anything. HOLD HOLD HOLD!
My bread making is getting better too, which is good , not bought any bread for well over two weeks.
We had a full monty breakfast for our dinner last night, had a few things that needed used up, mainly sausages, I got 1.3 kg free when I bought bacon from Macro, so when the whole family turned up near dinner time it was too good an opportunity to use them up. They were quite surprised when I dished up, think they thought I had lost some more time and mixed up the meal times.
Lamb chops for dinner tonight. Going to do a batch of scones and an apple pudding of some sort. (My apples are storing well, all still in perfect condition, thanks to the storage tips).
DH took over carer duties yesterday to let me get a rest, I slept till noon, it did me the world of good, I really needed a wee break, all the cyber hugs are reaching me, thank you!
I finished knitting the snood/leg warmers and headband for DD1, and knitted a lovely white one for DGD on circular pins, it looks well braw.
DD2 will be delighted, might take a photo and post pattern on one of the knitting threads.
If anyone is looking for circular pins PM me the size your looking for I have loads, ( I bought the stock about 20 yrs ago) from a wee knitting shop going bust.1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB:rotfl::j:wave::j:rotfl:

Today was meant to be an NSD (I did promise
) but.........I was reminded of a song on another thread that I haven't heard for ages and is such a great song, so I bought it before thinking and now have spent 99p on a song and ruined my NSD
Oh well, lots of time left and I really am going to enjoy it (already listened to it a couple of times!)I will be spending tomorrow as well, but then I should manage the rest of the week as NSD's.....x
