    Hi all,

£60.40 delivered today for food shopping! So that's me pretty much spent up to the limit! Received OH's vouchers for his m&s card today which came to £10 as it seemed a longer period of time this time, so will use them today to get the marks and spencer dine in and add the fiver, which I will pay £2.50 and G will do the same lol. So will add the extra £2.50 to my sig as well.

Going to have beef stroganoff tonight! CANT WAIT lol

    Have a good day all!

  • Had to pop to L!dl's for Fruit, veg and milk so total updated. Getting a bit scared of how close to total we are but I've included the Donald R. delivery which doesn't come until 25th. Less than £50 left and just over 2 weeks to go.

Anyway, while I was in L!dl I picked up leaflet with this weekends half price offers:- 250g Cherry toms 39p, 12 Fresh British Beef Meatballs 84p, 200g pack Grated cheese 64p and Jars of Tomato Pasta Sauce 37p.

From today they also have 24 rolls Cushelle Toilet Roll at £6.99, 29p a roll. I managed to resist the temptation as we are well stocked, it was difficult to resist as I can't resist a bargain normally but as my total is getting scary I had no choice.

Should be able to avoid the shops until at least Sunday now as we have what we need for a few days now.;)

    Afternoon

I still haven't caught up this month but I'm getting there and would just like to send best wishes to everybody, especially Helen Jelly - I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.

I had an A*da delivery yesterday and they managed to give away my frozen stuff to somebody else  - not impressed - I think I will go back to T*sco for a while, at least until A*da send me a decent coupon! Should be getting a refund but TBH I'd rather have had the pizzas!

I've got used to my new cooker and stopped singeing everything but I'm shooting myself in the foot a bit because I still will not plan:wall: Maybe today :o. I have to have a T*sco delivery on Tuesday to get the 1000pts so time to get organised.

    Have a good weekend :)

afternoon everyone, well i went shopping today and spent £41.41 and i wrote a great big list and mainly stuck to it with the exception of a few things i'd forgotten to add and a pair of slippers for my youngest :) then i got a few reduced items to freeze and cross off my next list (were all things i was going to buy anyway) so thats me finished shopping for the month except for 3 sets of snack money at £4 (so £12) and a bag of spuds and some fruit in the farm shop next weekend (£8) so i should come in £10 under budget fingers crossed :)

    Hi everyone
Sorry I have been MIA for the last couple of weeks - don't know where the time has gone! I guess that now I am on an annual budget I don't feel the urge to post as freqently.

However, I have been keeping a daily check and monthly totals on my excel spreadsheet. I managed to come in under the notional monthly budget last month but have been less 'careful' this month so far. I have had 7 NSDs though which isn't bad. Signature has been updated.

The problem is that having paid off the mortgage and with no council tax to pay till March it's easy to give in to tempatation and buy treats because we can afford to now. But I will stay focussed - we need to save for our retirement which is looming in about 4 years time so I can't be too extravagant.

In case anyone's interested Sainsbugs were doing 12 med W**dland eggs for £2 today - an even better bargain than their 15 family eggs for £2.79. We eat a lot of eggs and even though there's just me and DH we get through at least 12 a week!

Hope you are all keeping well - hugs to those who need them and welcome to any newbies I may have missed.

Congratulations :j I`m looking forward to being MF later this year :D The temptation to splurge a bit must be huge.

Well i`ve managed to stay away from the shops so a NSD for me today :j

I drove straight past as i had to go out to drop a parcel off for someone so i`m quite pleased.

I`ve spent lots of time in the kitchen and made a huge pan of soup with some rubber veggies from the bottom of the fridge, Jacket spuds lincolnshire sausages and more veg for tea tonight with onion gravy YUM!

I`ve also made a dozen breadcakes, Joalaad`s yummy spiced marmalade cake with more plum jam and this http://www.them-apples.co.uk/2009/06/how-to-make-pork-pie/ which i keep poking everytime i go into the kitchen to see if its cool enough to slice :D

I used cooking bacon in the recipe and a joint of pork that was on offer in MrM`s this week and i put a thick layer of stuffing on top before putting on the lid and i must say that my mouth is wateing - hope that it tastes as good as it looks and smells :D

I`m not sure whether or not all the sausages will make it to the freezer as i`m starving so i may steal one or two and treat myself to a sandwich. I shall cool and slice the rest of the sausages and freeze them then they can be added to fried onions and pasta with red pesto for a nice tasty cheap meal when i``m pushed for time. This is fast becoming one of my favourites with some peppers added for a bit of variety.

    SD
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Just 45p spent on a pack of chewing gum.

Had to have a bit of a rejig of my menu.

The chicken breasts smelt really bad so unfortunately I had to throw them out. Also - I put the part baked baguettes in the oven which are supposed to take 10 minutes...40 minutes later I realized I forgot to take them out. They were gonnas - no way of rescuing them so reluctantly they went in the bin.

    Soooo.

Monday I had Roast Turkey with sweetcorn and mash which was leftover from Sunday for dinner. Lunch was a piece of quiche with salad.

Tuesday I cooked BBQ chicken thighs with salad and coleslaw. Lunch was burger, with a small baked potato and salad.

Flatmate used some burgers and turkey for wraps for lunches these days

Yesterday I had anything leftover - burger, sausages, turkey, salad, coleslaw, wraps - for lunch and dinner.

Lunch today was a couple of sausages with mash.

Everything is used up now, so tonight I'm doing a storecupboard staple - Spaghetti Puttanesca (or 'Sluts Spaghetti' in Nigellas words! :rotfl:)

Back to my mums for her birthday tomorrow so should be it until next week. :T
