Morning everyone - should be a NSD for me today as have everything we need for dinner tonight. As I'm trying to empty one of the Freezers we are having some sliced Turkey from the Freezer, left over from Xmas, will do roasters, carrots, parsnips, bread sauce etc with it. Still got some in the Freezer, may use some more of it next week to make a Turkey and Leek Pie.;)
We're well stocked for the week's lunchboxes as yesterday I made some more Twinks hobnobs, jam tarts and choc brownies. Should keep everyone happy.:D
We're also well stocked on Fruit, shouldn't need to get any until at least Thursday. Will also try to use up the veg we have in and get some of that on Thursday too.
Have a good day everyone.:)"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

Things are beginning to look a bit tight with £202 spent out of £300 and 21 days left:eek: I spent £15 on hair dye, hair wax for DH and ointment for DH in b00ts at the weekend. I count the hair dye in the GC but not the cost if I go the hairdressers to get it done but I suppose it has to come out of some pot or other.
I have loads in inluding a months worth of dog food and bread flour. My meal plan has gone a bit of the rails this weekend with 3 birthdays and a christening do to attend so I have the makings of loads of meals already in. I was that worn out last night I didn't make bread so have had to give DH some money to get himself some lunch from Mr T today:o Must make bread, twinks and sunshine scones today so there are bits in for lunches this week. I do not need anything until the end of the week at the earliest, and then only fresh fruit and veg, milk and formula. I really need to keep out of a supermarket and I am not going to do my normal weekly shop this week.
Cheese and veg pasties, mushy peas and HM wedges for tea as DH is out on his mountain bike tonight and will need some stodge to get through all that mud:eek:
Right, off to rejiggle the meal plan for the rest of the month.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Spent €101 over the weekend - €74 in Superquinn and another €27 in Supervalu. Included a nice dinner for DH and I for our anniversary, with a bottle of wine.
We are using up some stuff from stores, not as successfully as I'd like. That said, we did get a pack of sausages in SQ as a whoopsie (cooked 2 for DD and froze the rest), had a dinner of other whoopsied sausies from freezer last night with mash and cauliflower cheese. Dinner tonight is a spag bol (made last night), and I have another pack of mince to use or freeze (was cheaper to buy 2), and I also got a pack of stewing beef for one night (I want to make a boeuf bourgignone later in the week). But otherwise the meat this week if from the freezer.
Too tired to work out a proper mealplan for the week, but I do have a list of possible meals (all worked out - not just "chicken pieces" but "sweet'n'sour chicken", IYKWIM) on the fridge door to use up what I have.GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

...On a plus point, we have TA training every weekend now until nearly the end of March, so that is two days we don't have to feed ourselves! Still may well be tight though...
EDIT - I mean two days a week, not just two days!
That should be a bit more cash coming in too! Roll on bounty time, I say! :beer:So - I've had to defrost:
Taste the difference burgers (flatmates)
...
Does this sound okay? If I cook turkey on Monday will it keep until Thursday?
You make burgers from your flatmates? That must have been quite an argument :rotfl: Sorry, couldn't help myself! As long as the turkey is kept in the fridge I would happily eat it on Thursday - I think it's one of those things where there are no hard & fast rules, everyone does it differently.
I finally did my "weekly" shop last night (usually go on Thursdays) & have updated my signature. On the plus side I think it should cover me for two weeks. I don't know if anyone else buys Nescafe "normal" instant coffee but Tesc0 have a "buy 2 for £7" on 200g jars - and my store still had some jars on the shelf from the previous offer, which were "100g extra free" - so I got 2 300g jars for £7 :j That should keep us stocked up for a while! Haggis is finally back down to normal price (Halls £2 each or 2 for £3 and it freezes well) after Burns night too, so we'll have our delayed Burns supper
On the down side I only noticed when I got home that I didn't get the reduced price for my bread rolls - only makes about 80p difference but I'm still miffed0 -
Forgot to do this last night, it was a no spend day yesterday, didn't go out. Today will probably also be a no spend day. We shall see, I will try my best.

Did monthly shop bits over the weekend to stock up on tins, packets, loo rolls etc & baking ingrediants - so I have now spent a total of £93.81 out of my target of £175. Not as bad as it looks as it leaves me over £80 for the remaining 3 weeks but I should only need milk, fruit & veg etc as freezer is still full.
DD1 & DD2 had a great time yesterday baking cheese scones & chocolate brownies so that sorts out the lunch box treats for the rest of the week.Declutter 2023 110/520

Ok I haven't been posting for a while and things have been ticking along - the cash system seems to be working BUT I have fallen into a bit of a 'if there is money left I have to spend it' way of thinking. Freezer and cupboards are groaning but I can't resist a bargain!!
We have £500 a month for food/ toiletries and cleaning stuff, petrol and 'incidental household expenses'. Petrol is abut 3 tank fulls a month so £180-190 leaving £310 for the rest. I might start taking some for savings at the start of the month rather than seeing if there is any left at the end and see if I can get down to £280...
My only downfall is I hate collecting the receipts and adding them all up - any tips for this one - its boring!!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
